I think it would be really bad news, think of what would happen to Steam! All the DRM would be removed and they'd stop selling shovelware...

I also heard about EA being bought by GOG, along with Ubisoft, 2K, Bethesda and Activision. Judas declared for the media that a merger between his newly acquired Valve and GOG is not out of the question. We;ll keep you informed as the events will unfold.
