GOG really needs to change the way that games like Pillars of Eternity or the new Pathfinder are presented. Do we really need to see the same game FOUR times in the store, just because the developer has chosen to create a needless amount of different bundles, all labelled with some obtuse moniker like "Hero Edition".

This practice honestly just feels like spam and an attempt to monopolize store front. How many games have been bumped from the front page because of this practice and have lost sales as a result?

DLC presents much the same problem. Having had to navigate hundreds of individual song DLCs for Guitar Hero on Xbox I can easily see a game with multiple separate DLC taking up most of the best selling list whenever it goes on sale.

On the main page these games ought to just have "Starting at X dollars" and then click on it, and you get presented with the various editions (same with DLC). Just like how on other store fronts with physical items you might select say a chair, then choose a colour, and find that different colours are priced differently.

Now if the different editions are on sale, then sure maybe list them all individually on the list of games on sale page.

It's most annoying when large sales come around and they're accidentally bundled together, eg, I'm sure I've seen Pillars of Eternity "Hero" and "Definitive" have been placed in the same developer bundle before, so someone who buys the bundle without checking individual games within it will end up buying the same game twice. I'm sure there's got to be a better way of doing it.

Also, buying the highest tier (which includes all bonuses from lower tiers) doesn't mark all tiers as owned because on GOG, they're different product codes instead of having the bonus goodies be included properly at the right level. That also leads to confusion if a game looks interesting and you're sure you've bought it, but there it is unowned.

Yeah, that's really annoying. Most of the time it's recognised as "owned" during checkout - so the info is already there. A shame this isn't working properly.
