Thank you so much, GOG! This is amazing. :)

No more swapping discs when I play now. Yey!
Nice.
Well, I'm glad I have a stable chair. Still remember playing it years ago till 6 a.m. and being surprised by sunrise.

Instabuy!

PraetorianWolfie: Congratulations GOG. This is a major release by all accounts :)

Matewis: Is it even possible to beat Crystal's score on the shooting range? I'll have to practice to find out. Only got a measly 37 compared to her 64...
avatar
PraetorianWolfie: On Easy mode the targets will be significantly slower.
Also, don't shoot targets unless they have rotated and revealed whether they hold a gun or not.
Yup part of my low score is all the robot babies I killed :P
Great release.
Don't think I've ever seen this many 'instabought' comments on a release thread!

GOG.com: I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe
From the time of its release in November 1997 Blade Runner has sold over 800,000 copies worldwide.
Well, you're giving it a chance to pass the 1000,000 mark. How bad is that?

To those who haven't seen the two movies yet: I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
[ Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. <then spoiler follows>]

Sadly, I don't remember how good PKD story was.

What about the soundtrack, is it for sale?

( Will build a GoG shrine in my [virtual] village )
Finally!
Thank you GOG!!!
Oh my Gosh GOG!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! What a woderful Christmas Present!! Instabought!!
Congrats to all Bladerunner fans, and huge thanks to GOG for trying to re-release it for so long, and to ScummVM developers for making it usable on Linux and other modern OSes!
Always heard about this game but never got to play it myself.
Great article on the game.

Thank you so much to the team who made this 'port' possible and THANKS GOG for selling it.

MarkoH01: You should change this ... immediately ... get the movie and watch it ... now ... you have to ... because ... Blade Runner!
avatar
MasterofFiction: Just to provide a differing opinion here, I found the movie to be really quite boring and incredibly over-hyped. I could never understand how it became so popular/praised. So, in case you are the odd man out like me, it might be better to watch the movie with tempered expectations and hope to be pleasantly surprised rather than go in expecting god's gift to cinema like most fans claim it is.

On a more on-topic note, while I have no interest in this game personally, it is always nice to see a long requested classic come to GOG. Grats to all you people who were wanting this.
Oh, that's perfectly understandable as well. The movie is slow paced and is mostly about atmosphere and the idea behind it ... but that is what it does perfectly imo :)

Afaik the movie flopped badly when it was released. It became a cult classic much later.
Really would like to see a documentation of GoG about getting the rights to release it here.
I suspect it was as difficult as it was with System Shock 2?

Thats something that interests me as well as the technical side of things.

That ought to be a good start to provide you with some answer on that subject. Short of GOG providing you with a copy of the contract.... ;-)

Never had the game, never played the game, always wanted to have & play the game.

So only one option here - BUY BUY BUY

And hope it works correctly with all bells & whistles included.

And that the user reviews are not flooded with those past good old memories without playing the complete game again as usually is the case. Past memories tested in these new times sometimes have the tendency to shatter those good old memories in 1000 pieces (I loved those gold box D&D on C64 but the interface of back then is now quite horrible to use on
PC and quite offsetting for newbies)

Anyway, THANK YOU VERY MUCH GOG FOR THIS EARLY CHRISTMAS GIFT ! ! !
YOU ARE TRUELY AWESOME PEOPLE TO MAKE US GAMERS VERY HAPPY !!! :)

CHEERS TO ALL OF YOU !!!
