One RPG to rule them all.

Every once in awhile, a game comes along and with its overwhelming quality and effortless charm, it will force everyone to give pause and pay attention, regardless of their preferences. RPG fans, co-op enthusiasts, dwarves, elves, undead, lizard people - everyone loves Divinity: Original Sin 2. And they have plenty of good reasons to, as these reviews will have you know.

"From lonely farmhouses through pitched battles with gods in far-flung dimensions, Divinity: Original Sin II is one of the most captivating role-playing games ever made. Its immaculately conceived and emotion-wrought fantasy world, topped by brilliant tactical combat, make it one of the finest games of the year thus far, and it has to be regarded as an instant classic in the pantheon of RPG greats." — 10/10 Gamespot

"The clever tactical combat and brilliant storytelling are in place whether you’re playing solo or as part of a group. Multiplayer is superbly implemented, allowing people to drop in and out at will, but it’s not necessary. Think of playing solo as managing an entire party rather than just playing the leader though – you can treat your companions as NPCs but I’ve had much more fun playing them all off against one another, stepping in to make them behave as I reckon they would in any given situation." — Recommended - RockPaperShotgun

"Divinity: Original Sin 2 is one of the greatest PC RPGs of all time, and Larian’s continued dedication to creating incredible freeform adventures inspired by tabletop lineage is inspiring and commendable. A few bugs and frustrating encounters are small prices to pay for a lavish ensemble of the genre’s best and a one-of-a-kind experience." — 9.75/10 Game Informer

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is now available for purchase, DRM-Free on GOG.com.

Kennethor: Review-sites are extremly untrustworthy in general, especially gamespot. I understand why you link them but I and many others take what they say with a grain of salt.

I would instead mention that users on Metacritic has given it a 8.7, It has four and a half stars here on GOG and *cough* Steam *cough* users have given it a very good score as well.

I'm glad to see that it's getting such a high score, Larian seems to care about the games they put out. It's rare to see a developer that does that these days.
It's *all* just someone else's opinion, of course. Web sites for both hardware and software are notorius at highlighting and exaggerating the good points while omitting or glossing over the bad points, so Caveat Emptor. The thing is, though, that forums are little better--negative reviews omit the good-great stuff; positive reviews omit the bad stuff, etc.

But in this case, my own opinion is that the really good/great reviews are spot on for this game--the game is a masterpiece. But, much depends on the preferences of the player, doesn't it? I'd say that the game shines brightest in its foremost design metric--as a single-player RPG. But then, that's only because I don't care at all--not even a little bit--about multiplayer *anything*...;) Ugh.

Would I give it a 10/10? No way!

I couldn't possibly give it more than a 9.8/10...;)

A day and a half!?

I'm still going after 72 hours & I'm only at the Nameless Isle.

Yeah, from what I've read, it's a stellar game and improved over the first - and also not nearly as short as the person above seems to imply. I'm thinking there was either a lot of content skipped or a lot missed - or both.
The only thing I liked less in 2 than in 1 was the armor.
Now it hasn't a damage threshold, but it depletes like in a shooter before you can damage health. It would be perfectly fine, if only the special effects (burning, freeze, paralisys and so on) would work even when magic and phisical armor weren't completely destroyed. That way you cannot use elaborated tactics and tricks before using brute force.
Break armor first, use special moves later.
