For now, I fixed some of them and added detail to the blockiest models (barrels, pipes, doors). There's still lots of seam and mapping issues here and there.

"This time, like in the Village area, most of the textures are full re-creations. From now on, the majority of textures you see in the game are quite random (with some exceptions). Some of them were taken directly by Capcom staff but its randomness makes it impossible to find the originals in real life.

"And some of them are based on textures you can find on the Internet (with patience and a bit of luck ;)). But many times even if we find the original textures, they are not at a high enough resolution to be usable. Consequently, we must re-create them from scratch anyway."

Yes but its not from a studio, its a fan mod, looks amazing.

Correction this is a fan made mod for a HD edition that already released years ago to increase the texures to higher quality.

i dispise what resident evil has turned in to and 4 is to blame for that
its over rated garbage and i hate every second of it

i nearly flung my controller at the screen when i saw the opening movie and things just went downhill from there

To be fair: RE 4 isn't bad at all. It's actually a very good action game with survival roots and because of this very hard for today's standards. Some parts are harder then the old ones. So hating on the game itself is a bit unfair. Hating the game because RE5 and RE6 were not that great and a complete departure from the old ones: yeah I can understand that.


On topic: I was a bit shocked when I read that article a couple of days ago. I just assumed that since the first pc version of RE4 was so terrible that this HD version was at least a good graphical remaster but judging from those screenshots it wasn't...

The HD texture mod looks great and all.. but this news is quite old. It was originally posted in March 2014.

I saw this not long ago. Game plays great, nice to see it getting a good mod.

I HATED RE6, and afterwards I lumped the other games in the same bowl. But I calmed down. I ended up buying 6 and Revelations (I already had RE 5 Gold) to complete my RE collection. I just need Revelations 2 if it has all the episodes in one package and the Damnation movie.

I enjoy up to RE 4 (although I do like the Revelations games). I like the old school games the most, but RE 4 had a nice blend of horror and action. RE 5 & 6 were all action, so I didnt care for those. Been wanting to pick up the REmake game, but it never goes on sale for cheap enough. Damn Capcom!

i dislike 4 because it started the decline of the series as a whole
the fact that capcom did away with umbrella in an opening cutscene didnt sit well with me either

i was playing for 6 years forward to that that cutscene should have been the end not the start the fact that its resident evil in name only doesnt help much either

to me resident evil needs to have the following elements to be resident evil
zombies
survival horror
umbrella pulling the strings

im indifferent about any other factors

resident evil 4 already rubbed me the wrong way but whats worse is that its a damn escort mission for the second half of the game
and the AI has the intelligence of a braindead prawn

all these factors as well as irritating QTE's dont really endear me to resident evil 4
im still slogging through 5
its ...okay i like it better then 4 but its no survival horror
im currently stuck in the temple with the mirror laser

The HD version was released in 2014, this is a mod for that release that improves the gfx 16x times, if you look at the video that contrasts the original HD game with the new textures, it is quite amazing what they have done.
