Maighstir: 1: sometimes they can't.
2: yes.
Thanks for quick reply. Actually if the 2nd answer is yes, then 1st one doesn't really matter :)
Edit: Ninja'd

GOG_Solostran: It's the same game, but updated to support achievements, cloud saves and overlay. So, not really the same version, but all who already own the game are getting new version for free, as an update.

eiii: Didn't the old version have German audio support? Or has that been only a bug on GOG's game card?
Just tested my backup pre-removal and it's english audio only.

To expand a bit:

Sometimes there's no time to inform about a future scheduled removal as the game needs to be gone from the store yesterday. And it does matter, primarily to people who are on the fence of getting the game. If they know it'll be gone soon, they may very well get it while it's still there.

Removal from the store and removal customers' libraries are different things. Games may change in libraries, however, like an extra or a non-Windows release may get removed* - but that's similar to a game being updated, the game package is modified both for what's being sold and those who already bought it. But changes in the library mostly happens when the game is still being sold (if it's not being sold, the developers rarely bother sending updates to GOG for packaging).

* I can't remember the game, but there was one where a third-party studio had ported the game to MacOS and/or Linux, and held some rights to those. GOG had initially released the game for both Windows and whichever the other platform was, but the other had to be removed since the porting studio hadn't agreed.

* Another one was when the MacOS release of Fallout was changed from being the DOS version run through DOSBox to the Windows version run through Wine. Of course, after Bethesda took over completely, they didn't agree to sell the game for MacOS at all, so GOG made a new package for Bethesda so that older customers could keep theirs.

omega64: Steam only shows audio for English so if that was originally shown it was a mistake.
So it was just the usual GOG game card inaccuracy.

How could this have been removed when I saw it not too long ago and it's also still in my wishlist? Sometimes GOG works in mysterious ways.

A perfect example of this is the closure of Telltale Studios. I was on the fence about the Walking Dead games. I had heard about the studio laying off most of its staff, but since the studio wasn't fully closing yet, I didn't think I had to rush to buy the games. I didn't want to buy an incomplete series, so I was waiting until the final episode was released, and I was going to buy them all at once. Well, they removed the games before releasing the final episode, so I lost the chance to get those games.

As another side of that coin, I saw a little while ago that "Batman - The Telltale Series" and "Batman: The Enemy Within - The Telltale Series" were removed from GOG. Those were two more games on which I was on the fence. I had hoped that Telltale would put them on sale during this past winter sale or summer sale, but they didn't. After the games were removed from GOG, I made sure to quickly purchase them from Steam so I didn't lose out. I would have preferred to get them on GOG, but I'd rather get them on Steam than not get them at all.

So yes, to anyone asking, advance notice of games being removed is an issue, and it would be nice if there were notifications sent to users when a game's removal is scheduled for a future date.
Besides the new release of the Soundtrack and Deluxe Edition, the Base Game matches GoG's previous low price prior to removal.
