Today, we bid farewell to the legendary post-apocalyptic 2D classics.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we needed to pull the three classic Fallout games, that is Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics, from sale and remove them from our DRM-free catalog. These classic titles have been with us since day one, that is for over 5 years now, and they were always one of the highlights of the selection of games that we offer. There are very few titles in the history of computer role-playing games, that have had so much impact on the gaming landscape, players' expectations, and even the popular culture. The iconic setting, the memorable quotes, and unparalleled amount of fun and challenge these games provide--it's all burned in the memory of a whole generation of gamers. Probably even more than just one generation. It was an honor to have you here, Fallout. Take good care of yourself out there, try not to mistake a gecko for G.E.C.K. (not even remotely the same thing!), and remember to take your Rad-X pills!

All those who acquired Fallout, Fallout 2, or Fallout Tactics on GOG.com prior to the date of removal (that is before Tuesday, December 31st 2013, at 3:59PM GMT), will still be able to download the games' install files (as well as the bonus content) via the "My Games" section of their user accounts. Gift-codes for these three games acquired in our recent giveaway are no longer valid. However, if you own a gift-code for any or all of them that was purchased outside of the said giveaway, you'll still be able to redeem it in the foreseeable future.

We sincerely apologize for all the inconvenience this situation may have caused you. We invite you to browse through 671 other fantastic titles offered in our DRM-free catalog of the best games in history, and we wish you a Happy New Year of gaming!
Some Good old games... A shame...
Now I feel like an idiot for not having bought them earlier. :\

Licurg: Bethesda can suck my dick .
^this
Maybe someone should create fanpage "Bethesda: return Fallouts on GOG!" on Facebook? Much more people would be informed about the problem then and could join the project.

Lets just get used to the fact that Fallout will never return here. Bethesda is almost a Valve company themselves.

I have been very skeptical of the games returning to GOG however hope isn't lost until they return to Steam without coming to GOG. That is when hope starts to run out. IMO.

Yes, especially since it was supposed to be easier for Bethesda to bring the game back to Steam since they have an existing publishing agreement. That means a GOG version, should an agreement be made, would take a great deal longer. When the Atari games transferred to Tommo, Wargaming.net, and Stardock, there wasn't even a hiccup on GOG. So, it could be anything from Bethesda's legal department taking their sweet time, or Interplay did everything possible to drag their heels and provide as little help as possible in the transition, or any of a multitude of other reasons.

I got a feeling that the one or two people at Interplay that were from way back when really have a soft spot for Fallout. They sold the franchise when they were too broke to stop it from happening AND they managed to talk Bethesda into letting them retain the original games a little while longer and try to make an MMO on their own. Looking at other examples like when Ubisoft bought out Might and Magic and got the whole back catalog........ya Interplay freakin' LOVES Fallout.

Jumping to conclusions about the future there aren't you? There's always the chance that the Fallout games will be re-added to the catalog in the future.

Bethesda has said so far they're working on bringing it back to Steam. I won't be at all surprised when Steam users get to buy it again soon.

But I do agree, the fact they've neglected to mention any intention to bringing it back to sites they were previously sold on like GOG and have taken so long to do is strangely disquieting. That still doesn't mean though that Bethesda won't give permission for them to be resold. Not for a while though given Bethesda's fickle business etiquette.
