I'm really disappointed in GOG's silence on these issues, if they at least warned people about changes I could understand that, but silent changes are an awful method for a site who apparently values their customers so much.

Deleting extras, changing game versions(cd-floppy)...what next.....replacing all games on the site with Daiakatana?!?

/silly mode off...although I also think this is a bad thing for GOG to do without telling people so they can download what they PAID FOR before it's removed or replaced.

Yes, most of my purchases were done to support GoG and the goodies they offered, this means the goodies are not granted and changing the game's version is also a big no in my book.

I really disapointed by this...
Hm. This is news to me. I'll ask Product what has happened with these.

EDIT: Also, I'd suggest that it's not "silence on an issue" if less than a day has gone by since it was first raised.

It is, in a way, if such things weren't mentioned in some shape or form before/during/after said items were removed.

As others said perhaps a sticky or such that listed items about to be removed/changed in games would be a good idea. :|

(Also tia for chiming in here.)

After reading this I guess it's time for me to back up the game extras. I have a 10kb download speed and over 100 games. This is going to take forever...
Realms of Arkania files were replaced and NOBODY TOLD ME ABOUT IT?

Are they freaking kiddin me?

Just the game, supposedly. Still, it sucks to be sure.

And I still would like to know from anyone who knows when this happened, if anyone knows.
And most important - how on earth 70 MB game can be a floppy version? :P

The installer itself(ironically) takes up some of that space.....also some games in the past came on a dozen or more floppies...that's partly why CDs were invented/adopted for gaming use/etc.

I didn't mean this particular thread, but as GameRager said, the moment Someone removed extras from a game.

But thanks for looking into it.

NightK: What's the difference between floppy version and cd version?
Dunno. I know there was CD version and floppy, and after some time they changed that to floppy.
avatar
GameRager: How long ago was this? And was it for new buyers(getting the floppy versions) or everyone?

I recently redownloaded them....dammnit. It's like storing your files in the cloud then someone going in and replacing them with other versions or deleting stuff. :\
Not sure, but I don't have CD version. It was long long time ago, AFAIK. I think long before most of us bought it here.

Oh, so it's prehistoric times, and it was somehow announced. Ok, so no hard feelings.

Removing goodies without a warning even for people who already have it isn't good thing, though.

So they cut out the cd audio soundtracks? Is that for just RoA 2, as listed in that thread, or for both games(1 and 2)? Also is there still music in the game(I have it but haven't played yet.)? They just removed the standalone soundtrack from the one(Or both) game(s)...right?

That's just for that game, not the others missing extras.

No idea. I just read about it long time ago. And now you can check the links.
