SirPrimalform: I just assumed they'd show the same thing as the trailer. Glad I'm wrong!
I didn't like the way the original Japanese version's UI was always stretched out even in widescreen, either.
So, I fixed it. Simple as that. :P

Hooray! It's little bits of extra care like that that make Xseed great.

The trainwreck that is NISA's release of Ys VIII makes me appreciate you guys even more. Hopefully it'll show Falcom how much better a job you've done on the other Ys games.

GOG.com: this game was originally known as Zwei II.

HiPhish: That's a pretty redundant name.
Like Final Fantasy II? Or Final Fantasy XV?

No, the word "zwei" is German for "two". So "Zwei II" is literally "Two two".

RedPatrick: If this is Zwei II, then what about Zwei!!? Wikipedia says it is a direct sequel what I interpret as "connected storywise" and I don't like to start in the middle of an ongoing story.
Most of Falcom's games can be played independently of each other, even when they're part of a series. You can play Ys The Oath in Felghana without having played Ys I and II, and you won't be missing much. The same goes for the Legend of Heroes or the Xanadu series (even though some sub-series within Legend of Heroes *do* have more of a continuation to them, but you can still play any sequel without having played the previous games, since it's all self-contained).

I've played a bit of Ilvard Insurrection and, so far, I don't feel like I'm missing anything by not having played the first game, story- or lore-wise; I'm assuming Ragna was already a playable character in the first Zwei, because of the intro, but that's pretty much it.

I also think it was a pretty clever move by XSEED to drop the "II" from the game's title, and just call it Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection, instead, since a lot of people simply won't play a game if it's a sequel to some other previous one and they haven't played it first. This way, it just feels like another chapter in the series, independent of the ones that preceded it, which, well, it's how Falcom's games actually tend to be.

HereForTheBeer: Two playable characters between whom you can switch back and forth, and whose abilities complement each other. On paper it sounds ideal for co-op.
If you ever played any of the "3D" Ys games, it's basically the same party system; you switch between the two playable characters on the fly, there wouldn't be much room for multiplayer using this system they implemented, it would just break the flow of the game, especially considering it's story-based.

Watched the stream and wishlisted it for now.
This is not normally my cup of tea but it does look fun, I'm adding it to my wishlist for now.
Hey, how come there's no forum for this game?

Here's a big issue: The game will only work with the first controller in the list.

So if you have, say, some hardware that installs the Virtual Xinput Device driver? You'll need to go into the Device Manager and disable it manually.

This is a right royal pain in the neck. I have to disable my mouse's extra functions in order to play. Here's hoping Sara gets this fixed ASAP! (Not that she doesn't have other things to fix. Really, they need to clone her. or something.)

Yeah, the really sneaky part is that this actually means the game is still "Zwei: II". Ilvard Insurrection. I think it's a neat way of preserving "Zwei II" while still not making it sound purely like a sequel.

No idea. That kinda bothers me, too.

I'm aware of this issue and do want to fix it to work more like other Falcom games I've worked on.
KawaiiSara: Hello! Any plans to have the option to disable the "typewriter sound" while dialog is appearing or have the text appear without the "typewriter animation"? This is what's bothering me in many Japanese style games btw :)

Xseed? Insta-buy KTHXBYE.
Will end up buying this but I will be setting the voice volume to 0. I hope the publisher only watches
dubbed movies too.
