Hipster Alex vs the World.

YIIK: A Postmodern RPG is now available DRM-free.

It's not Alex that's paranoid. It's the world that's gone totally barking MAD, mate! Armed with an unwavering obsession to prove his outlandish conspiracy theories true, he gathers an army of weir--- enlightened warriors and together they'll run the gamut of addictive JRPG activities: mini games, listening to electro music, and turn-based fighting against foul monsters who have no business existing in the first place.
Post-modern RPG with only 2 genders to choose from what the hell is this?

The writing is also pretty awful.

groze: I've been mostly absent from the GOG Forums as it seems to me they got flooded with people who really value their own opinion and seem to think EVERYONE needs to know they're NOT INTERESTED in any given game when it releases ("ANOTHER ROGUELITE, GOG?!" "ANOTHER PIXELART GAME, GOG?!" "WHERE ARE MY ELITIST GOOD OLD GAMES, GOG?!" "I'VE SEEN GAMES LIKE THESE A MILLION TIMES BEFORE, GOG!!" "PLEASE RELEASE THAT CRPG OR THAT STRATEGY GAME NERDS LIKE ME LOVE, GOG!!"), and, sadly, this thread is already full of that crap. So, I just wanted to say I've been keeping YIIK under my radar and that I instantly purchased it, along with Feudal Alloy.

You're doing a good job, GOG, thanks for catering to ALL of us, not just the elitist gatekeeping nerds who feel bad because gaming is no longer "just for a select few".
I take them with a large grain of salt. And I take you with a large grain of salt. And I even take myself with a large grain of salt. o.O

Say what you will about 'elitist gatekeepers' but at least stating an opinion about a new addition to GOG is limited to that instead of lashing out at other users.
Apparently the game didn't sell well so the developer took to insulting gamers:

I'm sure insulting potential customers will get this game to take off...

aaaaaany minute now...

Hahaha. It's always other people's fault, isn't it?

If the dude wanted his game to sell, maybe he should have avoided putting the word "postmodern" into the title, which will immediately turn off everyone except for the most pompous blowhards or partisan agenda-pushers. You want to go the #2deep4u route? Fine. Just try to not make it reek of "Look, Ma! I'm being clever!" shenanigans.

Side note: It's also funny (and somewhat infuriating) that this thing made it through gog's "curation" and Grimoire didn't. Grimoire has 860+ wishlist votes, this thing doesn't even have a wishlist entry.

Like many other devs they can't handle criticism and lash out like a child...

I'm all for making what you've always dreamed of, but making a game that few wants and then insult both new and old buyers is not the way to go. And perhaps they should take a hint next time and either make a game people wants or move away from being a dev entirely.

And it really falls into the category of the Dunning-Kruger effect; they think their product is a work of a genius and those that don't like it are either stupid or idiots.
