Run boy, run!

Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap, a lovingly remastered version of the cult classic platformer, is now available DRM-Free on GOG.com.

Curses! Your arch-nemesis, the Meka-Dragon, has transformed you into a shape-shifting monster that keeps hopping between forms from one level to the next. Start as a boy or girl, then turn yourself into the human/animal hybrid that would best handle the challenges ahead.
But that's not all the mix-and-matching you'll be doing: This fully remastered version offers the option to easily switch between the HD and 8-bit graphics or sound on the fly!

Watch the wonderful trailer.

Great game! Definitely wishlisted and will pick up for sure eventually. The remastered visuals look so cool!
Minimum system requirements
DirectX: Version 10

Haha.

HunchBluntley: You totally should have gone with "What is the secret of your power?" =)

Grargar: Maybe not, since the video is region-locked. :P
There should be something here that's not locked for you. Hopefully. =)
But anyway, I just meant they should've used that reference, not included the link. I just dropped the link for anyone (apparently in North America only :P ) who didn't already know the reference.
Wishlisted but I want to play Paperboy.
I might be interested in Wonder Girl (apparently the title screen changes if you choose the female character), but does this game work in WINE? (I don't have Windows, so it's a deal breaker if it doesn't.)
.... the fuck??

One of the games i really loved on my good old Sega Mastersystem back in the days - i would say was the best title in the whole wonderboy franchise (IMHO).

Nice to see it got a new remade version - and i did not expect a title originally from Sega to arrive here at all :)

If this one is as good as the original console version, then go get it ASAP.

Very unlikely if it really needs DirectX10 as the page states.
It still puzzles me for which effects it might be needed in this particular game.

If I get it I'll test for you

just remembered
The devs are working on a Linux version.

I had asked them in a discus forum if the linux version will be coming to GoG, they think yes but not 100% sure

DT did you back

GOG.com: Run boy, run!
I sure wouldn't mind playing a game based on this Woodkid music video.

Oh... well I want this, but that price tag is a bit too steep. On to the wish list it goes.
Oddly enough, they appear to have put Cap'n Fang from Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic into the game as a boss monster.
Own the Master System and TurboGrafx version of this, great game, just brace yourself if you are used to the more modern style of game that holds your hand so you can learn the mechanics.
