budejovice: Why is it snowing in the Caribbean?
Well it used to Russ.
Looks interesting, the idea of an RPG where your "character" is a ship sounds cool.

Weird, I remember playing a PS1 game when I was in high-school where you controlled a type of ship and battled against other ship, you could choose destroyer, battleship, even submarine, I guess you could call it a fighting game but with ships. 10 internets to anyone who can tell me the name

Ixamyakxim: I freaked out when I saw this on the front page, as I've been dying for a pirate RPG (I've actually been hoping for GoG to put up a few of the later Sea Dogs games). If you've played Sea Dogs, could you say if this is like those games?

Or is this closer to a Diablo / Drox Operative / Soldak at Sea game? I'm not sure if that's exactly what I'm looking for right now.
It looks like more the latter than the former...more likely like Drox Operative but with pirates.

I have never played any of the games you listed so I would be unable to compare, sorry.

Riotact: Overboard?
I googled it and I'm afraid not, it was modern navy ships.

tinyE: I don't trust GemeSpot, but they gave it a 3. :P
Gamespot is absolute crap when it comes to objectivity and scoring. Definitely not to be trusted. The Witcher 3 review seems to be one of the exceptions.

LOL doh! Struck out on all fronts. Hopefully Lodium has a few ideas but I did get a reply implying it's probably closer to Drox. Fun, but my wait for the Sea Dogs games continues!

If you get bored, jot down an impression or two ya? While not exactly like what I'm looking for at the moment, it's always fun to see how a new game plays.

NPS YW, you can post the internets to me, theres no hurry :P
Hmm, I'm thinking about getting this, but I'm a bit concerned that it may not be my kind of game after all. It's hard to tell how deep the game is from the trailer, but it looks quite shallow. Basically, what it looks like is an isometric multiplayer-focused arcade shooter, which happens to be pirate themed. Can anyone who's actually played it comment on this?

Weather =/= climate! :)

Just to follow up on my smartass comment. Bought. Thanks for the release discount!
