DF1871: A loong time ago i played the first one and it was one of the best games i ever played, quite short but a huge number of different paths to choose and challenging fights. But as far as i remember it was a serious game, maybe even historic...if i take a look at the screenshoots for this game i see crazy stuff like cat&angel-clothes...^^ i don't like the idea of a cat-samurei or something like this.

mystral: All the games have a serious storyline with a historical basis. The first was the end of the samurai era and how existing samurai should handle it, the fourth is around the time of Perry's Black ships, about how Japanese people should react to the foreigners forcing their way in. Haven't played 2 or 3 yet, but I'd expect the storylines to be just as serious.

The wacky stuff in the games is pretty much entirely optional, relegated to sidequests and optional unlockable costumes.
Ok, maybe i should give it a try. Are the games linked or are they independet?

saldite: I mean, for the most part, 3 is pretty serious and more in tone with the first game. Even the first had goofy things like Afro Samurai showing up and a few strange side quests here or there.
The first had a Afro-Samurei^^...somehow i managed to forget this :) or the shock roasted apart of my brain

Voted! Still, it's unlikely to see a PC release due to licensing issues in regards to the Plus version.

They're independent, I think. You play a different character every time, in different parts of Japan, at different points of history.

kohlrak: Kind of like Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest in that the games are completely independent of each other. Sure, there's references, but the storylines aren't even tied. I started with 3 on the PS3. The game eases you into it as if you've never played one of them before, especially since it feels like it was designed not to be binged, but played every now and again.
Thanks!
Well I'm not exactly sure what I'm getting myself into, but I went ahead and bought. Anybody know what is up with some of the bad reviews this game got from the critics? Were they gameplay elements that got improved over time or was it just no accounting for taste?

As far as I can see the Way of the Samurai 3 - Deluxe Edition currently has an US price of $14.99. Can someone from the US confirm this?

My local price currently is $15.34 and I do not get any Wallet fund on purchase. Shouldn't that be covered by the Fair Price Package:

"If a product on GOG.com costs more in your country than the price in the US, we will make up the difference in value out of our own pockets, and offer it to you as free Wallet funds that you can use towards any future purchase."

Another bug or do you start to get rid of the Fair Price Package, GOG? :P

Mentioned that five days ago. No blue bothered to say anything... And for me it's $17.72.

That's even worse than my price. And still not fixed...

Did you try contacting support about it? Having a blue respond is nice but they might not check every post even in a release thread. Support is likely better equipped to handle the issue anyways.

Yeah, got a reply today and it was fixed. Nothing to work out for me as I didn't get it, just noticed that it was missing. Did post a PSA for those who did though, in case any happens to check... Hm, may have been better to post in the game forum? No idea.
But maybe you could just sort things out automatically for those who did happen to get it and didn't receive the FPP, if any.
