It is a time of ancient gods, warlords and kings. The Holy Empire is in turmoil. And you, as the wronged but righteous lord of a poorly treated fiefdom, will find yourself straight at the epicenter of the uprising that will shake the very foundations of the Empire.

The diverse philosophies of totalitarian theocracy, chaotic paganism and progressive enlightenment will clash in a spectacular and highly tactical fashion. Manage your troops and choose your own path to victory through the branching campaign of Warrior Kings that shifts along with your alignment. yyahoo: Odd that the sequel was released on GOG before the original. Made me think that there were issues with it. Guess not. Great to see it here!
There were which is why we had to delay the prequel :)

Vestin: Hey, I remember this one! It kept crashing... and crashing... and crashing on me until I gave up. That was the first time I've witnessed such a thing... and also the last time. I guess throughout the years patches have been developed that solved these issues, so hopefully nobody will have to relive my cycle of restarting the game only for it to crash to desktop moments into the actual gameplay.
I managed to finish the entire game on Windows 10 without any crash. Maybe there was once one after Alt+Tab.

There were, we managed to fix issues that were present in previous versions (i.e. Steam one). So you were right :)

Gwynoth: There were many disk issues on a new pc, did you guys fix the music constantly shuffling tracks and freezing the game, causing units to slide across the screen / teleport? If you did I already own the steam and cd version but id more than happily buy the gog.com one if you guys fixed that from both the vanilla and battles version!!!!!!!!! This game rules!
Hmmm, I know we came across that very issue (it was one of the reasons we held back the game, actually) and from what I can see it's fixed BUT if it happens to you despite our fixes, please do send us a Support ticket :)

Crosmando: Why does this game have widescreen support while Warrior Kings: Battles does not?
Probably how they were made. We didn't mess with anything regarding widescreen support or lack thereof :)

OldFatGuy: I have no sound... looked in the sub-forum and saw nothing about this.

I haven't actually started the game yet. Installed it, launched it, it _seemed_ to lock-up on the first screen (looked like a photo) but then it started. But no sound at all in the intro, or at the main menu. I checked the settings and sound is not muted.

Anyone else experiencing this?

EDIT: What I mean by having not actually started the game yet is that I launched it, but never went past the main menu to start a game because I had no sound.
Please send us your support ticket by following this link: https://www.gog.com/support/contact/technical_issues_with_games/warrior_kings and select "sound issues" from the drop down menu :)

OldFatGuy: Oh gee I didn't want to bother you guys with a support ticket, just thought I'd ask if anyone else saw this and maybe they could help.

I'd like to play around with it some more myself before I give up and send in a support ticket. Nothing against your support team, AT ALL, but I just don't want to add to their work if I can figure it out myself or find someone else who has.

I'll keep this link though in case I don't figure it out myself. Thank you.
Well, the link is there in case you can't get the sound to work :) I would perhaps start by installing/repairing Direct X 9.0c and see where that gets you :)

OldFatGuy: I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!

Well, except I didn't. LOL.

I just started the game again to see what happened... and this time no lockup on that photo.... and the sound works great. I changed nothing, did nothing, just a different day... LOL

Computers... you gotta luv 'em... otherwise you'd go nucking futs figuring them out.

I mean I didn't do anything. I didn't reinstall it. I didn't change any of the compatibility settings, nothing. I merely started the game again today just to check again that there was not only no sound at the menu but none at the opening sequence (which is what locked up last time... see previous post). And just perfection. Just a different day and today it works and the other day it didn't. Anyone figures that out and they win the internets forever.
Did you restart your PC after installing the game?

Gwynoth: I've tried restarting and It still skips music tracks constantly, every 3 seconds or so, anyone else having this problem or is it just me?
Please send us a Support ticket with all the details so that we can reproduce this on our end and see what we can do to fix it :)
