MarkoH01: Just to make sure that I understood you correctly. Do you want to express with this that you oppose Linkos opinion of the first one being pretty much forgettable?
avatar
MikeMaximus: Yes, I don't see how anyone that actually played it could have that opinion if they like the second one so much. The core gameplay is basically exactly the same with more drone and parry flexability.
That's what I thought as well - but of course I can only judge the second by the trailers so I asked. Thank you.

I should have been more clear and less snarky in my initial reply. I've had other people express to me that the first game was forgettable with a complete lack of explanation. It just gets on my nerves at this point. Maybe Linko can explain if he sees the discussion.
I've read and watched some reviews, and it's still not clear to me if this is the kind of game I'd like. Is it an action/adventure (like Resident Evil 4, Mass Effect 2/3, Tomb Raider (2013), etc...) or an action game with some story/RPG elements tacked on? (90% of the game just grinding your way through enemies, and looting)

If it is anything like the first one it is a bit like the Dark Souls games. You will die a lot, you cannot save, you have to fight really carefully because on death you will respawn at your "base" and you will have to get back to were you were with all enemys respawning as well. You will find shortcuts after a while and there will be some more or less brutal boss enemys at the end of certain areas. You will have to get additional gear and upgrades laying around and by fighting enemys and cutting limbs of. Story is mostly only there to get you into some battles but you will find diaries, notes and audio logs to reconstruct what happened.

At least this was my experience with the first one - have to add that I am really bad but still enjoyed it so far.

Shouldn't the game have achievements as described on the store page? I don't see them in Galaxy!

Screenshot attached.

Edit: I started playing and earned 2 achievements without notification. Maybe they're not properly integrated?!

I don't have a lot of experience with Dark Souls... so I still can't imagine what it's like. Is it in any way "cinematic"? What is the ratio combat/non-combat? (I'm not asking for some exact figure... Just... can you compare it some other game that is not Dark Souls ;-) )

I can enjoy some more combat-oriented games, like Resident Evil 5/6 or Castlevania LOS, but they're rare (and I don't care much about most FPS/Quake-like/Military shooters).

IFW: The Premium Edition has no discount at all - please fix it.

emter_pl: This time only the standard edition is on sale.
That's fine but premium edition still doesn't contain the URBN gear pack. And could we have an explanation of the season pass. Does it only contain four or will it contain all DLC released like normal season passes do? If it doesn't contain all content then it's not a season pass and it should be a content pack right?

I love the game and want to buy it but this is horribly confusing, any chance someone will check this over and fix it all soon?

Particularly why the almost $70 version doesn't have all content included. Or why the Season pass is not a real (traditional) season pass.

It's 99% combat. More important however is that the combat is brutal and that you won't get regular checkpoints. Whenever you die you will respawn at your base and you will fight the same enemys you just fought just to get better or get shortcuts. You will have to work hard to make progress and you won't be able to survive combat by simply smashing buttons. Each attack will cost you stamnia and if you are out of stamnia you won't be able to fight so you will have to think when to hit and when to dodge.

So you're basically giving your customers an incentive to stay away from the Premium edition. Do you and the publisher think that's a good idea? Are you allergic to money and want to earn less? That's a very strange business decision.

Since the dlcs are full price, the discount would be much smaller... so I can see why not... BUT I think Focus is not aware of the GOG problem of buying missing dlcs not showing up as a higher tier edition ever for buyers... which for example annoys the hell out of me, so I will just buy the premium edition whenever it is the same price as base discount plus full price dlcs or less.
At first I was kinda worried this wouldn't sell well here, but it's currently a Bestselling title just below cp2077 so I'm glad it seems to be doing well.
Thanks you GOG.

Thank you for the explanation.Whenever I read "Action RPG", I have to think of games like Witcher or Kingdom Come which I like very much. But this sounds completely different.
Thanks for the warning about the "incomplete" Premium Edition / Season Pass problem.

I will now wait, until the game is "dead" and all DLCs are fully released here.

Do not like the "open end" approach of those releases, sorry.
Never really understood the appeal of "souls-like" games.
