The Church in the Darkness is now available DRM-free. Get it 20% off until August 9th, 3pm UTC.

The year is 1977. Your nephew Alex has joined a religious cult and moved with them to the South American jungle. It's up to you to sneak into the commune, find out what's really going on, and decide if you need to get Alex out.

AlienMind: save game?
Considering the reviews, and the comments here, nothing's going to save it...

AlienMind: cool we're back in 1985 again where you gotta leave your machine running to be able to continue playing.
No, No!, I made jest (because of the brevity of your question). I have no idea whether the game supports saves or not.

RedRagan: I wonder if the developers brave enough to put the kool aid scene in.

tinyE: Who was the greatest boxer of all time?

Jim Jones. He knocked out 909 people with one punch.
Oh, that was the joke about that mass suicide. I had forgotten the "punch line."

Ashnak: Could someone be so friendly to explain this to me? I know the Jonestown story. But I cannot understand where sensibilities and backlash could come from?

And what propaganda? For what? Is this pro-sects, because it doesn't look like it. Or is it bad when it's against sects? I'm so confused

Zoidberg: Jab at socialism. Feels pro capitalism murica fuk yea to me.

I'm fed up of this, so pass.

As for the game itself, reviews aren't really positive either so...
Have a look at the reports and documentaries about Jonestown. The game has basically recreated this hostile environment and absolutely nails it. Your interpretation that the game is pushing an agenda is completely unfounded.

falloutttt: Hell yeah!

Please add achievements!

Pyromancer138: This.
+1 for achievements and the OST + behind the scenes DLC.
avatar
GameRager: Every new release I await your nitpicking it apart with baited breath...truly amazing...four stars.

*claps*

Zoidberg: Funny of you to only remember my negative interventions and not the positive ones where I defend a release.
If you have done so I apologize.....this was just meant to be a light jab at the posts I noticed & that aspect of your postings here & less a major jab at you personally.

It's actually a jab at commune style cults, not socialism in and of itself.

Also MANY countries embrace capitalism and not just america......many european countries do as well.

I am guessing the guy/gal making achievements for this game has to be very careful lest they offend everyone with every other achievement. o.0

Don't worry, people care about my question as much as I care about roguelikes. Bummer could have been nice.
