We have exciting news for all the fans of classic tabletop fun. Two board game adaptations - Talisman: Digital Edition and Talisman: Origins - are now available DRM-free on GOG.COM! So, set off on an exciting journey through distant lands and take your courage and strength with you. All that, and a few good dice rolls, will be needed to survive the dangers ahead!

The release of the Talisman series on GOG.COM comes with a special set of discounts on its titles and DLCs, lasting until 5th October 2020, 1 PM UTC.

If I remember correctly, Talisman Origins is a singleplayer only experience and it has only 3 DLCs, while Talisman Digital Edition is a direct implementation of the board game, and it aims at the multiplayer experience, and it is monetized as such with plenty of DLCs. I know which one I'm getting.

Sure, I must agree with that. But Talisman is also fun to play singleplayer, although probably not worth getting such a plethora of DLCs.

Which is why they released Talisman Origins, for those of us that prefer singleplayer. Just Talisman Origins + 3 DLCs and you can enjoy the full experience. Or if you aren't sure about the game, you can just try the base game and decide later if the added campaigns are worth it.

Oh my, that must be the game with the most DLCs on GOG. Time to fix your DLC handling on the game cards, GOG!

And on top of it a DLC bundle which does not even contain all of the DLCs?

This is kind of an unfair comparison (even moreso than Train Simulator). Fantasy Grounds is a TT RPG (and other games) platform, so tallying all the DLC for it is somewhat like saying you need to buy all the stock of books and modules at your local gaming store.

Man, it's games like this with infinite DLC that I wish GOG would use their curation specifically to avoid. I would never buy into a scam like this.

I didn't see this coming! I already have the base game on Steam but I will get it here too and some DLCs too eventually!

Actually I have Talisman: Digital Edition and Talisman: Prologue, that I don't see here. Is it something close to Origins?

I too played "Prologue" many years ago (and quite enjoyed it) so I'd like to second that question.

As far as I know that game had it's Warhammer 40k licence expire, so it cannot be sold anymore. Anywhere. Sorry.

nigelbeans: You wouldn't get any of the 4 legendary decks. You would get 17 characters, missing 7 of them. You'd get 13 expansion packs, missing 3 of them. You also get the Runestone deck, but this can be unlocked through normal game progression.

I hope the above is correct - it's possible I made a mistake.
I bought the DLC Pack and the following stuff is still missing:

- 5 characters (Vampire, Satyr, Witch Hunter, Shaman, Swordsman)
- 4 Legendary decks (all of them I think...)
- 3 Expansions (Ancient Beast, Clockwork Kingdom, Realm of Souls)

Quite a bit missing in the pack, I think newer stuff?

Oh, yes, didn't notice that on the steam page. Looks like its just Origins then this time. Not messing about with all that DLC.
