I may try this game, but I won't be paying for it as things currently are, no.

Devs want their games sold on different platforms? They have to handle it properly, there's nothing else to speak about.

Were there any games like this out before. I recall seeing the similar optical tricks in a demo of something ages ago?

MarkoH01: Just checked it and you are correct. The game is 13,49 Euro here and on Steam while it is 12,79 Euro on Epic. Maybe they got some additional money from Epic to compensate for the difference - but I can completely understand your decision.

eric5h5: Again, you don't seem to understand: the devs are not in charge of any regional price differences that might exist between Epic and GOG. They set the base price to $19.99. The price is the same on both stores. There is no "little respect" or "being insulted" involved at all. If you don't get that basic fact, I don't know what to tell you. It's like you're actively trying to make up fake reasons to be offended so you can "justify" piracy in your head.

MarkoH01: That is so wrong - and I already told you. Adding regional pricing is up to the publishers and has nothing to do with GOG or Epic. Still no reason for pirating of course - not buying is one thing ... pirating another.
It's a political matter now when games and devs feel like they can do as they please with your electronic rights.

Why are people thinking this is about regional price when it could come down to gog and steam taking bigger cuts than epic does?

I've seen this mechanic used in Frame Of Reference, but I haven't seen it anywhere else (though that certainly doesn't mean it hasn't been used elsewhere).

I guess Pygmalion did not want to force you to do (or not do) anything at all. It was probably just his own opinion stated from his own moral point of view. Of course it will always be up to you of you see it the same way as well or not. It will be piracy, that is for sure and I'd agree that piracy will always be wrong ... but each and everyone have to decide if he/she wants to go this way or not. It certainly won't help DRM-free though since the main argument for those who like DRM and think it is necessary is that the pirating rate is too high.

In this case because if you look at the US price the pricing is the same as it is on Epic, GOG and Steam (at least this has been said - can't test it myself without VPN though).

Of course i don't know the legal situation in Belgium, but at least for Germany (and i think also for most other countries) this is by no means my personal opinion, but rather the law.

I am neither your friend nor do I want to force you to do anything. I only call the child by name. Obtaining a game from illegal sources is piracy in most countries around the world.

I made my point of view clear, I'm out at this point.

I was not talking about the clear definition of pirating - only about the fact that you can't force the user what to do, no matter if it is illegal or not (which means, my comment was only aimed at the first sentence of what you said)..

Edit: You already said what is really important: It is fatal if DRM-freedom is associated with piracy. Especially here at GOG we should clearly distance ourselves from such a thing - the big publishers like to use pirated copies as an excuse to refuse drm-free games.
