Veilor: I'll buy this if it's improved for modern systems. So I'm asking like anyone else, what has been done?
From the gamecard:
Works on: Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8)

OK, so I've played about an hour on Windows 8.1. Full screen, no bugs so far.
What an amazing, major coup for GOG. I've owned X-Wing, Tie Fighter, and KOTOR for a long time and all three are absolutely among the best games ever. I've never owned X-Wing Alliance though, and would pick that up (along with the handful of other LucasArts games I haven't played) the moment it became available.
Instabuy. Already playing and just escaped the Endar Spire with my foxy scout lady.
Great RPG. A bit repetitive at the end but which RPG isn't. The Star Wars feeling is definitely there.
Yay, one my all time favorite games of all time ^_^ definitely in the top 5 tier. I will definitely rebuy at some point even though I have it on steam and regular xbox.

Does anyone know if this version includes the DLC Yavin station?

My old xbox copy never had the Yavin dlc mostly in due to not have xbox live back then =/
Knights of the Old Republic is a party-based RPG with a great story and characters, traditional Bioware fare and a shining example of a great Starwars game (thankfully we have many) for fans of the universe. On a completely random historical note, Bioware had been further developing interlocking animations to form a rhythmic combat dance and provide the player with something interesting to look at. This was the first game where it worked well, as opposed to Neverwinter Nights where it was silly at best.

My only issue with the game is it tends to boil choices down to Jesus or psychopath. In Knights of the Old Republic 2 you can be truly evil, manipulative and cold. I got chills.
To buy, or not to buy... I tend to be terrible at RPGs, yet keep being attracted to them.

KOTOR is not as hardcore as, say, Wizardry :)

I remember I played this one without minmaxing or pulling off any sort of munchkin stuff and I got by just fine :)

THIS.

KOTOR is for SW fans who suck at RPGs, like me. I suck at them and yet I play this over and over and over. I stress that it's for SW fans though because a hardcore RPG player might find it over simplified and lacking depth whereas a SW won't care because he'll be too busy blasting the soundtrack or playing around with his light sabre all while yelling to anyone within earshot, "Dude I got a red! No, man I want Green. No Red and Green! No, I want a double Purple!"

I did kind of exploit the Light Side/Dark Side system since it was mostly "OK, I'lll be evil enough to get the force lightning AND then I'll continue saving the Star Wars equivalent of kittens!"

:) Alright, thanks. Guess I can safely let my curiosity control my wallet, then.

usually, i'm the kind of person who likes to be the good guy in pretty much anything; on the infamous demo, i would go around looking for people to help. it felt good when they said thanks or something else nice.
