ricki42: The forum post yesterday mentioned a Linux release. Will that still come later, or was this a mistake?
My guess is that the mentioning of Linux was a mistake they made in the non-finished leaked press release.

DrearierSpider: So here's my situation: I beat Mass Effect 1 & 2, trying so hard to like them but I never could. Is this game all that similar to that series, to the point that I shouldn't bother, or are there enough differences that I may like it?

Some of the problems I had with ME were the abhorrent level design (not only as far as layout/lack of explorable areas, but I felt like I was walking through rooms where all the props were cardboard cutouts), meh combat, and the shear volume of sidequests as well as how useless the rewards were and how uninteresting the sub-plots of them were.

Siegor: Well, the level design is similar since Kotor was a sort of percursor of the Mass Effect series. The combat is quite diferent (and in my humble opinion better). Think of it as "Real Time Turns". But what is best about the game is the story and the characters. If you like that then Kotor is a safe buy.
Thanks for the advice. Are the sidequests as useless and boring as in Mass Effect though?
Can we expect the OST to be added at some point?
You did a great job bringing KotOR here (that was something I didn't actually expect to happen).
Well, you do have a knack for finding the best stuff, that's for sure. :-)

I'd say some are hit or miss. Trying not to spoil too much but let's say you see a guy being bullied: you can help him or join in with the bullies and all you get is a slight alignment change (this would be one of the "misses"). However I see that as flavour rather than a sidequest.
Keep in mind that I quite like the whole Star wars universe so I might be a little biased. ;)

Sachys: If anyone gets this and has trouble with getting a widescreen resolution working, I highly reccommend Flawless Widescreen:

(also works for a bunch of other games)
Oh, thank you!

OdanUrr: Can we expect the OST to be added at some point?
There hasn't been an official release of the soundtrack, so that's not likely ;)

haydenaurion:
no worries. i found it seemed to make it fairly stable as well.
KOTOR 2 as well? What do you think guys?
I know that Aspyr owns the right of the ports of the original, but in the case that the sequel gets released on GOG, could you think about porting it over to OS X and Linux?

That would be awesome.

Actually, some of the tracks were made available on the LucasArts website at the time.

Again, thanks. I'll probably wait for a discount but it's worth looking into IMO.

I think there were decent sidequests, more like extra things to do that make the world feel lived in. And Pazaak is a fun distraction. If you were close to liking Mass Effect, and think you can handle pausable real time combat similar to neverwinter nights (the precursor to this) you will probably like KOTOR. I kept hoping ME would make me feel like KOTOR did all those years ago, and it never did. I remember, I got this game for Christmas, and for like a week I was up till 4 am every night. Just could not put it down, gripping till the brilliant end.
