The marvels of evolution.

SPORE™, an organic playground of custom-made creations, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 60% launch discount.

At what stage does a living organism start taking its shape, absorbing influences from its environment, its parents, or its peers? For these SPORE™s it happens during their very conception when you get to decide their characteristics and traits, then see them grow from Cells, to Creatures, to an entire Tribe, to a glorious Civilization, and eventually a Space-faring people. Apart from your virtual offspring themselves, you will also get to design their vehicles and buildings, as well as determine all aspects of their eventful lives. And eventful they will be, because when you start exploring the universe, other species might try to befriend or fight your guys for intergalactic supremacy. It's a wonderful journey that begins with the versatile creation tool, but the decisions you make along the way will determine how, where, or even when it will end.

Create your own unique species and spread their influence across the galaxy with SPORE™, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 60% discount will last until September 29, 12:59 PM UTC.

Skysect: Seems no one mentioned but GOG keys working with Origin . I activated them on Origin too . So you don't need to buy from there again :D
Yes everybody know it.
low rated
Not even close to the EA releases I was hoping for. Especially this one... people still want to play this shallow pack of Molyneux caliber lies? Spore was the original No Man's Sky.

Now, perhaps (though unlikely, "everybody" is a lot more than you first think). I didn't before I read Skysekt's comment.
Awesome!
Next,we need The Sims and The Sims 2 ^^
We need Sim Earth.
Yes! Thanks GOG.com.

Are you saying you can buy the game here, and you receive keys that are valid to redeem the game also on Origin? I'm just wanting to confirm that and know exactly how it works.

Yup. It's even necessary if you want to access online features (EA Account & Origin account is the same)

Charles.Surge: I don't know this first-hand, but seems:

The Creature Creator was released prior to the game itself and that is why it exists as an entity. The editor is included in the base game. WIkipedia says, "The software is automatically superseded by Spore when it is installed, since the Creature editor is already present on the game." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spore_Creature_Creator
Wasn't aware of that. Would be nice if someone who has bought the game here could confirm for sure if this is the case though. It seems odd that Origin sells it standalone still if it is included with the game itself. What use would owning it separately be if you didn't also own the game? To create creatures for a game you can't play because you don't own the game? LOL

Yes exactly it is . I even downloaded it :)

Ok, cool to know. Thanks for the fast reply also!

Thiev: It is fully playable offline.
Online content includes optional stuff like uploading your creations to SPORE servers or downloading other players' creations.
avatar
HertogJan: A quick search based on Impaler's question showed those servers are offline since 2013. Either completely or only for new players. You can still import other players' creations though: https://www.reddit.com/r/Spore/comments/37fqpl/how_can_i_get_more_creatures_offline/
If this is the case, wouldn´t it be better to put those creations to database, which could be included with the game itself (assuming it´s not unwieldy) and thus make the game fully offline?

EDIT:// Just read Thiev´s comment. nevermind then. Still doesn´t like this feature.

phaolo: Btw, does anyone remember Flow?

I do :)

I will never forget that game - I have beat it in a few hours, but just before final battle managed to swear alot and woke my flatmate - it was lat in the night/early morning.
She stormed the kitchen and started to berate me for being so loud.
Then I finished the game, she came back, she wasn´t so angry anymore and asked:
"What were you playing?"
- "a bacteria"

You should have seen the look on her face.

Sweet university days :)

so EA seems to be keeping back C&C, Sims, Mass Effect & Crysis..... figures, probably the best series earners for EA on their store..

Mind is blown.
I still have the Spore Galaxy Edition here which I started playing a few weeks ago again.
I was always interested in the only stage they left out of the game: the Aquatic stage. A stage where you swim around. You can still find some old videos of the beta about it.

I discovered that last year a great modder was working on a hug mod that incorporated the rebuilding of this old stage by using some hidden parts of the game like the Aquatic Editor.
Sadly he got a lot of negative comments about nbugs or so and he rage quited modding. He removed all his uploads of his mod, which is called ForgottenSpore.
Yesterday I started doing some extended research. It took me quite some time but I manged to find a link to someone who re-uploaded the last versions of his mod. :D
You can find this re-upload here: http://davoonline.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=27122&sid=b2946ec3238adcc11b920a40ac2df9a4#p27122
Look at post 8 and 11.

The problem with this mod is that I needed both the base game and the Galactic Adventures expansion to play it. But I only have the base game (Galactic Edition).
So I started looking for physical copies of the expansion and see how much they would cost... I found some and their quite expansive for such an old game.
1 day later (which is right now) I go to GOG and discover that the complete Spore collection is being sold here!! :D
I'm definitely going to buy it.

There's one question though... I've read that the Steam version of Spore (not that I use Steam) has problems with some mods. I hope that the GOG version is closer to the original. I'll try it and see what happens. :)

Oh and for the people who don't want the online part of the game but do want all the creatures: I still have an old backup with more than 12.000 creatures, buildings and vehicles together. I can share it if you want. :)

Edit: I just noticed that the game got released on GOG with 16 languages! Even my own native language which was also included with the physical version I have. Thank you GOG, that's something you don't see every day! :D
Also thank you EA for releasing this game on GOG, I never ever expected this! :D

Spore. The GAME No Man's Sky wished it was.

That should be Spore's shiny new tagline.
