Breath of new life.

SpellForce 2 Anniversary Edition a cult-favorite mix of RPG/RTS in a revitalized package, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com.

By the year 2007, SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars and its expansion SpellForce 2: Dragon Storm swept across the gamersphere, garnering a cult following for its mix of RPG and RTS elements in a bold, coherent, and–most importantly–absolutely fun experience.

A decade later, SpellForce 2 Anniversary Edition is here to breathe a new life into the series with a rebuilt multiplayer experience as well as numerous gameplay and bug fixes. Combining both SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars and Spellforce 2: Dragon Storm, the Anniversary Edition is a completely free upgrade to all owners of both original products, and an affordable upgrade (67% off) if you only own the base game.
So cant anyone confirm if the cutscene camera bug is fixed or not? It is the only thing keeping my clicker in check.
Thanks in advance.
THQNordic excellence rolling through GOG again :D.Kudos to you guys, and the GOG team. This offer is really nice, and the fact that we can keep our old installers for old times sake is pure gold ;).Cheers
sweet! free upgrade much appreciated (not showing up yet, but it will)

I recently FINALLY started playing the original Spellforce and I am having a blast (hah!) with it. I generally very much dislike RTS games, but it has a well-done combination and I definitely recommend it for those players who like RPGs with a good unique fantasy story.

Just saw that it was added to my library. Thanks, THQNordic!
Nice to see the Spellforce series getting some love. Now if only you add additional languages to Spellforce Platinum, I would purchase both it and the Anniversary Edition of Spellforce 2 on GOG in a heartbeat.
high rated
The anniversary edition was added to my library and SpellForce 2: Dragon Storm and Shadow Wars are still there as they should be - so far so good.

But there's also one negative aspect about the anniversary edition - it comes with no extras, not even a manual.

The old gold edition had the following extras included:

- manual
- manual (french)
- wallpaper
- soundtrack
- avatars
- artworks

So people who haven't bought the old version won't get any of those extras with the anniversary edition.
Still waiting for it to show in my account
Oh, it has arrived! Thank you! : )

Now I'll wait for someone to test the new version to see if everything is ok..
Got it in my account. Thank you!
Cool. Now I just need to get around to playing it... sometime in the distant future. =P

If only somebody had a stockpile of unused codes for those games...

hmmmm...

Are you talking about the bug that is described in the links below?

If so, it was apparently fixed by the latest patch (2.01), which was, for some reason, never applied to the Steam version.

Thanks THQ Nordic. Now I just need to play the first ones even if it's probably not necessary as it rarely is, or ever. I have vague plans to switch back to Linux when I next upgrade computer so I need to play all my Windows only game before that. (I had switch from Linux to Windows because of work but that is no longer a factor)

A derivative of that i suppose yes. But the 2.01 patch never fixed it and it also persisted in the physical Gold edition (also bundled in the Universe box). Dunno aobut steam edition as i never bought that. My experience comes from the original first prints (starforce Shadow Wars+ Dragon Storm which introduced the bug in the first place) and SP2 Gold from the SP Universe package. Wasnt that particular bug the very reason SW and DS were sold separately here on GoG? After all, the bug is not present in a vanilla SW installation.

EDIT: http://forum.spellforce.com/showthread.php?t=71479
this is exactly what im referring to.

By the way, Spellforce 2 Anniversary Edition joins the list of games that do have a manual, but not as an extra. Instead, it is located in the game's installation folder.

I see. I currently have the game installed, so I could give it a go if the problem shows up early in the game.
