How comes that there is not a single mention of the original Startopia in this remake description? Are they really trying to trick us into thinking this is an unrelated game?
low rated
I see they've done nothing to improve the pragmatic visual clarity of the game.
If this is a REMAKE it wasn't a very wise decision to disassociate it from the original video game. I've seen some reviews on Steam that don't favour this title since March 2021 when it was re-released on this platform. I'll pass on this ''REMAKE'' for now. I'll wait for the reviews on GOG from the owners to see if this video game is worth it.

Edit.-

The developer has no connection with the original one. The trademark just expired
Well, the developer or publisher does not necessarily have to be the same if it is a ''REMAKE''. But thanks for the information.

I love how the pack with the game + the soundtrack is cheaper than the game alone ;P
(not only due to the release discount, this is the same with the base price)
I actually recently tried to give the original Startopia a new shot but couldn't really get into it anymore. Looking at the relevant Steam pages, this seems to be either (at best) a faithful remake or (at worst) a buggy clusterfuck. However, most of the action seemed to have happened around release time and I currently do not really have the time or patience to see if and how anything with updates changed this.

Did anyone keep better track of how this evolved?
Still looks nice. Wishlisted.

For no connection whatsoever the similarities are striking, so to mention the original by developers would be right.

That seems to be true, unless I missed some info on this front.

This on the other hand is obviously wrong. This is a remake in all but name.
Calling it an "unrelated game" might foul lawyers, but not players.

I don't think they could mention the original game, whether or not they actually wanted, without entering legal quagmire in at least some of the territories where they intend to sell it. The game card is more or less a form of advertisement and advertising in relation to another product you do not own has a few pitfalls.

Many games on here reference other games in their 'Game card' as either inspiration for, or has some (vague or otherwise) affiliation with said game. Nothing has become of that, from what I have seen...
A bunch of decks advertized in the trailer. Disco-deck not among them.
The game page has system requirements for MacOS and Ubuntu, but according to the game details it works only on Windows. What is correct?
All Kalypso games which have Mac/Linux versions have them on GOG. It's far from the first time the game details are incorrect.
