Crouching ruler, hidden diplomat.

Sengoku, a strategic overlook on the powerstruggles within feudal Japan, now DRM-free on GOG.com with a launch discount of 50%.

The great Emperor, direct descendant of the goddess and supreme ruler of the land of the Rising Sun, no longer commands the respect of his lords. As the door to your private chambers slides back into place, you begin to unfold the newly-received parchment which speaks of seizing opportunities and reaping mutual benefits. You let the message burn, the smell mingling with incense mid-air, carrying with it your thoughts on the powerplays necessary to appoint a humble clan lord as Japan's sole ruler .

Sengoku is all about planning ahead and adjusting your strategy to best utilize any newly-formed alliances or recently-discovered betrayals that threaten to derail your steady rise to power. You will first need to seize control of your clan and secure your stronghold before setting out to claim the throne of the entire Empire, being always mindful of the religious factions operating in the background. A silver tongue, a strong army and a competent heir to carry on your conquering legacy are your primary concerns as you negotiate, double-cross or violently impose your rule over 16th century Japan and become the supreme leader of the land of the Rising Sun.

Use subterfuge and military strength to become feudal Japan's new ruler in Sengoku, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. Backstab it with a 50% discount that will last until January 10th, 1:59 PM GMT.

vicklemos: Not expensive at the time, I must add; 60% off, 1 year ago.
Got me hooked (I've read almost the entire manual - I work for the government so there's pleeenty of time :P)

Gede: I understand, dear "zuca". The problem is that I would like to have that luxury of time.

Tarm: It's the least expensive game I've ever bought if you factor in how much I've played it. If you like really complex turnbased fantasy strategy games you get a ridiculous amount of playtime for that price.

The two creators does not like to change much so they pick a distribution way and stick to it. They seem comfortable with steam so I'd say chances are low for it to get here unfortunately. I'd probably buy it again if it came here.

Gede: I understand. However, I saw that Dominions 3 at Desura seems to cost €119, while the newer version shows up at €125. Now that requires a lot of dedication to make up for the investment. Steam lists more reasonable prices, so I don't know what is up with Desura.

Anyway, I'll have to look at some videos and try out the demos.
Those Desura prices sound plain wrong! I've never heard of it costing more than a standard new AAA game. It's chancy to say anything more about prices because of regional pricing but I've never seen it for more than say around 60 $. Though they tend to not drop in price for ages.

I wouldn't buy anything on Desura with the risk of it going under.

Desura isn't paying Illwinter anything for copies purchased here anymore, so the price has been raised to encourage people to buy from Steam or Gamers' Gate.

Oh, thank you very much ! Very interesting... If you have played the game, do you suggest it to buy ? It is very tempting for me, but can't decide due to the price :P Is it of same quality as usual Paradox's games ? (HoI, EU and Victoria series)

You're welcome. Only played the demo of it years ago. From what i know it's more like Crusader Kings II than the other Paradox games.

Edit: Please check your chat ;)
