UPDATE: Don your best frock and tie your shoelaces together: RUINER is now out on Linux and the penguin dance is in order! To celebrate, the game is 50% off until April 25, 3pm UTC.

RUINER, a cyberpunk action shooter with a striking aesthetic and lightning-fast combat, is now available DRM-free on GOG.com.

Are you good at taking orders? How about dodging bullets coming straight out of some psychopath's firearm? There's a bleak future ahead of you then: just put on your unusually expressive helmet, grab any weapon you can find, and make your way through the violent streets of Rengkok, a cesspool run by corrupt authorities and bloodthirsty thugs. Don't question your mission - the mysterious voice in your head always knows best.

Want to listen to the game's electronic beats even when you're not beating up thugs? The one-hour-long Official Soundtrack is now available for purchase.

Looks promising. Hits a niche I'm mildly interested in.
Can't say this is my favorite genre, but the style/aesthetic does look interesting. I'll wait for reviews.

Bonsewswesa: It's less that they'll patch it in and more that they didn't think to include such a basic feature in the first place. This seems to be happening more and more lately, with some of the REALLY incompetent ones not even making it work with kb+m at all, because apparently they coded the game using on-screen keyboard with their xbox 360 controller.
Hopefully the devs learned something from this - that's it's NOT okay to just assume that everyone uses WASD - for any of their future titles.

Anyway - one of them just posted:

"Yes, this is our #1 priority for the future patch.

Expect it soon, sorry for troubles."

in regards to the current lack of rebindable keys.
So - soon™.
My eyes and ears are ready and in active reception mode...still haven't decided if I wanna play this or not.
Am I really stuck getting the steam version if I want the soundtrack?

We're working on it :)
Okay, so I fired up the game yesterday, because I was curious.
Art style a lá 80's definitely got my attention :)

Controls are smooth and it plays in a linear fashion, at least in the beginning (at the end you will arrive to a first (?) city, where I parked the game this morning, which seems to be a hub), where you move your player down the only open road available.

I find the controls optimal, but I can understand those who will say they don´t, and so far keys are not re-bidnable - something developers said should arrive in the first patch.

What I like is that you will be rewarded a certain amount of points which you can freely redistribute around your abilities, which will unlock with your level - you can modify your character any time between the combat, even take out points from already activated abilities and invest them elsewhere - meaning you will not get enough points to unlock all of them, but you can change and combine them any time.

It looks like an interesting shooter and if it has an acceptable length (not needlessly stretched), this might be a good game.

Oh, and soundtrack seems right down my alley :)

Oh, that's great news. I kinda have to buy that.
The soundtrack in the Steam version is missing, it's not there, they're essentially selling the air. People complain on this. But there's no use. Developer be silent.
And the steam tracklist in the incentive is not complete. There are no tracks of Susumu Hirasawa. I hope that in GOG will be the most complete tracklist. I would buy
Anyone else find the non-diagonal movement awkward? It was actually game breaking for me. I might take a look at this game in the future because the flow of the abilities and aestetics is top notch.

Just as a sidenote, do you know why Sexy Brutale doesn't have the soundtrack on GOG? I asked on Twitter but they didn't respond. :l Would hate to have to repurchase the game on Steam to get it there.
Hm, soundtrack day it seems so far.
low rated
control scheme is horrible and keys are unbindable. im glad i pirated this before buying because its basically unplayable for me.
