In the press:

"I’d say it’s like being Batman, but I think it’s more like being Batman if Batman ever said, “To hell with this crap”." --PCGamesN

"Ronin has struck upon a novel form of combat that feels so pat and pleasing that it’s kind of amazing it hasn’t been done before. [...] Combat which manages to be both balletic and intensely strategic – a rare combination.” --Rock, Paper, Shotgun

Grargar: At any rate, it's very doubtful that this game demands 2 GBs of video RAM.
That's true, but I would not rule it out these days. Not a Hero says it requires 1 GB of Video RAM.

Edit: But it seems it was just an error after all. :-)

Zoidberg: I wonder why Devolver insists so much on regionally priced games, I thought they were cool... seems it's all just a ploy! :D
Yep, another regional priced game by Devolver Digital (as expected). It seems they really don't want my money.
Well, I guess I'm not the only one who thought of Mark of the Ninja when looking at the screenshots. I'll wishlist it for now until there is a compelling reason to get it.
Looks all right. Still hoping, of course, GOG can get "missing" big publishers' attentions again.

stg83: Cool nice to see the game here, I first saw Ronin when it was announced at PAX and was quite intrigued. If anyone is interested in getting a taste of the gameplay then you can try the demo from the following link.

RONIN DEMO
Try the demo on a video card with less than 2 GB memory, let us know what happens. :)

I don't have a video card with less then 2 GB on my laptop, besides the minimum requirements have been fixed now. ;)
Gunpoint ripoff?

ryan_sm99: 2GB of video ram for a game that looks like that?!

These developers are really getting so damn lazy with their optimization.

HiddenAsbestos: Sometimes it's just a lack of broad testing to find a minimum spec. If the developer's machine has 2Gb of VRAM then it's safer to put that than guess. Plus there's also a minimum imposed by O/S and, more recently, the middleware used to build the game with (Unity, etc.) That being said, 2Gb is quite high !
must be a typo indeed :D cause this game with 2 GB of video ram?
And the devs are getting very lazy nowadays, trust me :D

found a demo so i am gonna see what its like :D

Did this really need to have three separate entries?
What does awesome-based mean?
Pretty sure I first encountered the word "ronin" in Shogun, which later became Samurai Swords I guess. Good game - I enjoyed it at least as much as several in the Gamemaster series, namely Conquest of the Empire and Broadsides & Boarding Parties (which was a pain in the ass to set up, with the sloping decks of the ships).

I thought Devolver & GOG were buddies. I'm with JMich re: the Day 2 release. But I assume I'll check it out soon.
I like the idea, will have to check it out.
This looks interesting, curious to see how (or if) one can gage when you're going to be within the enemy's line of fire and when not. Good that there's a demo to try out.

thanks i got the demo before i saw yhese posts, i saw the game on gog, wasnt logged in yet and googled for a demo.

The demo game looks okay so far , i always have to make sure that there arent any lightningflashes, paralax scrolling, zooming in and out , rotating and of course 3d FPP walking, i explained a while ago why (motionsickness/photosensitivity and more)

I dont see any nasty lightning flashes yet, many games like these usually have some scenes were theres bad weather and many lightning usually full screen, this to make things more exciting, which is nice but just as some people have colourblindness i have other things i have to check before i can buy a game that wont cause me to get 'sick'.
So far theres only a slight annoying small white circle around the gun when a guard shoots, or when the character picks up a weapon, it might have its use that small flash but when people pickup an object it wont flash.
As for the interface its easy and pretty straightforward , at least in the demo it is.
I do wonder why these 'nasty' next and previous arrows are on the screen, they are quite big, maybe its only in the demo as a tutorial.

Check attachment to see what i mean, i drew a red square around the buttons (maybe its next/prev buttons, but they are a little big)

Its no full screen cause then my fan starts to spin like crazy, maybe its the GTS250 1 gb ram( game seems to run okay.,)that like to heat up, read some posts that nvidea cards tenmd to get hot quit easily, but i had nvidia since i bought my 1st pc so it works for me ( minus the problem it gets hot easily)

So far so good... :D , i disabled all the effects, fullscreen, and vsync

Welcome back. One trusts you are tanned, rested, and ready (for more abuse). :)

EDIT: Oh, and this game looks cool too. Somewhere between Mark of the Ninja and Not A Hero, stylistically. Both of which I enjoyed.

haydenaurion: I think that listing is a mistake by gog. The Steam version listing says 2 GB of RAM, not VRAM. I think that's what gog meant to write on the gamecard.

Edit: Or rather, they wrote 2 GB in the video card section by mistake I assume.
