Dis looks actually fun.

I have no idea what kind of video game RoadOut is supposed to be, but to me it looks like a clone between the original top down Grand Theft Auto video games. Grand Theft Auto 1 and Grand Theft Auto 2. With a mix of other types of top down video games. On PC we might be able to get some crazy mods made by PC video gamers who are modders to may be add more new types of cars to drive. I am loving that change from the top down view to first person view. A video game I am 100% interested in purchasing.

Waiting for some reviews before purchasing, but definitely interested.

It's one thing to criticize on the release forum thread. It's quite another to put that in the review section on the game page.

It reminds me of the old Motor Massacre / Road Raiders on the C64.

According to this post, RoadOut uses the GameMaker engine (constructed with version 2).

Apparently, it may not be too difficult to export the game to other platforms (such as: Linux and Mac). Hopefully, if they have not already done so, the development team considers taking this path. : )

I suppose he doesn't get the Idea of a chosen Art Style. At least not one that chose to be before the Super Nintendo......and he feels strongly about it.

I would say this is definitely at least on par with a lot of the games that got released on the SNES.

The guy doesn't like retro styled games and he wants to write about it in the forums, fine.

But thrashing the review section (that paying customers will look at on the game page right before purchasing) to criticize the aesthetics of a game he hasn't even bought or played... that's just low class behavior.

I mean, I understand your point in general, but let's not lose perspective.

Everyone who's slightly interested in this game, will most probably have seen the graphics (screenshots and trailer) already for themselves, BEFORE they scroll to the bottom of the page, to read ANY review, that may be available down there.

But even IF someone should read that "review" first, they will still be able to look at the graphics afterwards, and then decide for themselves, whether they like them, or not.

But why would anyone do that "I-don't-wanna-know-anything-about-this-game-I-clicked-on-but-the-reviews" routine in the first place? Like, seriously.

Rest assured: that guy's diddly squat "review" won't keep anyone from buying - at least nobody, who isn't sharing his views in regard to the graphics, already.

So - losing your temper over this nothing burger, is completely unnecessary, and definitely not worth the heightened blood pressure.

Best solution is just downvote the review, and then write your own. Preferably after buying and playing the game for a while.
