River City Girls is now available DRM-free.

There's trouble once again in River City, and this time only the girls can save the day! Using a variety of attacks, weapons, and items, these hot-blooded heroines are ready to teach the city’s lowlifes a lesson - either solo or in 2-player co-op! It’s an old-school rumble for a new generation!
I will wait for a linux version.

igrok: I will wait for a linux version.
Judging by other publisher releases you might have to wait a long time. Neat game any way but the lack of online co-op kills it.
You know, the Shantae delay was a blessing, the people who biught it on Steam eneded up having to buy the Ultimate Edition all over again since they didn't offer an upgrade path at all.

As to this game, it doesn't look bad, but when a brand new $30 game has fewer features than the $5 update of River City Ransom that came out years ago...

Well, it seems REALLY overpriced to not have so many things the game it's based on already provides.

I agree, i watched some gameplay videos on Youtube and the game doesn't look bad, but it is a little too much, 19.99 as a listprice might be better.

The recomm. is too high imho: an i7-3770 ( base 3.4 ghz) for a game like this ? ( unity i guess)
somehow i believe beat em up ups like this can run on 2.5 GHZ , no i7 needed, a decent i7 is for the more demanding games, i've played some demos that had more advanced an heavy graphics and ran well on a i5 - 2. 66 ghz quad ( my old i5 750)

Anyway i have Bud Spencer and Terence Hill Slaps And Beans on Steam ( requires client so i wont play it but bought it cause i liked the game)
Unless they changed it, the classic white effect on hitting characters can be turned of ( in the Bud Spencer and Terence Hill Slaps And Beans game) , if every game had an option like that, i'd be buying more games)

i actually just tried this on a laptop with a 1.0 ghz intel m3 and intel hd graphics 615; and it ran pretty good.

my guess is that they just didn't test it on anything less than an i7.

and yeah, i wish we couldve gotten slaps and beans here, according to the steam forums its been abandoned tho. :-(
Just to let everyone know, there's now a gog-compatible version of the keyboard control mod:

Thats why i liked the late 80-90s, poor foreign developers , simple PC, low requirements , decent retail ptice and good games... today they all own big i5 or i 7 ................ and click n play development tools to "develop" games
instead of coding like c64 period.... take Rambo simple game limited ram and graphics.

Anyway , today 10 GB games , 8-16 GIG ram needed, GTX 750 or up as absolute minimum ans 1080P screens :D

Core 2 duo E7500 as a minimum recomended CPU, can't get lower than that, since 64bit OS is required.
Complete PC's with that CPU can be found in garbage or be bought for the price of a meal.
I'm pretty sure the Nvidia GTX750 minimum requirement is somewhat flexible since the resolution can be lowered to suit the GPU.

Well, all the "big i5 and i7" are nothing but midrange, how times changed....
