Raiden III Digital Edition, a revamped version of the wonderfully old-school vertical shoot 'em up classic, is available 10% off on GOG.com. That's only $8.99 for the first week.

Raiden III Digital Edition is a revival of the classic Raiden series of scrolling shooter games. Raiden III has new concepts are introduced, which includes a "new 3D scrolling system" that involves the camera pointing down normal to the player while the scenery moves in three dimensions: climbing, descending, and sometimes moving vertically. The blue Laser concept is more like a beam, instead of the ones seen in prior installments.

Nice release. Was wondering about it coming here since I saw it on steam a few hours ago. Anyway nice to see the game here. Wishlisted.

Oh hell yes! 100% GAMEPLAY ladies and gentlemen.

Soooo glad to see this here, it was a shame that it was taken down from PSN right before Raiden IV came out, leave it to GOG to justify things. :)

We don't have many shoot 'em up games on GOG so it's a very nice release. Wishlisted for now.

Unlikely, I don't think this one is running through an emulator, and it's a different developer on top of that.

No, the game card says September 25, and it should say September 24th, which is today, cause that's when you released it.

Checked it in other stores also - it seems the official release date is 25 of september. Very curious :)

Edit: It seems every store jumped the gun on this release which is not bad at all :)
