Why does the demo version get the latest updates, but not the final offline installer?

Offline installer still on 1.000.0, Galaxy version on 1.004.0.

The offline installer is now up-to-date. Sorry for the delay! Next time, please reach out to Support or contact a moderator :)

Ehm... I contacted Support on Saturday (well, it was in general for offline installers, not specifically for this), and 2 moderators (yesterday evening and today one I saw online) to know when is supposed to have an answer from Support (considering heavy Support traffic) but no answer... and for the sake of completeness I contacted Galaxy Support on December 2020 and still no answer...

Anyway thank you very much for this update

For me, such questions also belong in public and therefore in the forum for all gamers. I think insidious questions to support are wrong.

The GOG support has also been overwhelmed for a long time.

Yes, well, I think that it's not the best that users beg updates here and there when they find a problem, and the Support (or Moderators) could be submerged by many requests for the same issue. I think it should be automated, a (at least daily) query to a db which search for different Galaxy/Offline Installer versions (let's say versions at least one or two days old) and makes a list. GOG Staff could then update some Offline Installer every day till the end of the list.
We could ask to GOGdb author for that list.

The problem that offline installers are not updated has increased since GOG-Galaxy. Only with the expansion of Galaxy are offline installers updated insufficiently. That's why I've been saying for a long time that GOG will become Steam 2.

Unfortunately, patrons are not the exception. Of my 100+ GOG games, I unfortunately have this problem. In 2016, when I bought my very first game (Banished) here, GOG was top in terms of updates to offline installers. With Galaxy 2.x, a lot is broken at GOG. :-(

Seeing things get worse is a bad show, I don't know if they realize how they are dissatisfying us with this "Galaxy first" (which sometimes seems "Galaxy only") behavior, I hope they read these messages.

If Offline Installers start to be updated in a reasonable time, this will be very very appreciated.

I suppose they wanted to make Offline Installers completely automated with Galaxy but it seems to be quite faulty. A daily check I suppose is necessary (anyway every automation requires checks).

I mean Galaxy part used by Developers: https://docs.gog.com/offline-installers/

"Offline Installers

Offline (backup) installers are automatically generated on our servers after you publish a build to the Master branch. Because these installers are queued up for generation and publishing, there may be a delay of several hours between a build being published on the Master branch and an offline installer appearing in the game library.

Important
Please note that this is only applicable to builds updated post-launch. For the Day-1 launch, we will trigger the generation of offline installers right after receiving a Release Candidate for QA tests; this will ensure the offline installers go live at the same time the Release Candidate is published to the Master branch."

Only it doesn't work 100% on GOG anymore, a delay of several hours a day. Unfortunately, there was a one week delay with multiple versions, not hours.

GOG should review and revise their system. What worked 100 years ago no longer has to work today.
