Looks interesting. I guess I'll wait for a deluxe edition or such. I can bear the DLC madness with games high up my rader like GalCivIII; but not with ones I merely consider interesting.
Think I will be pickling this up today...
Hmmm.
Really in two minds about this, the Civ IV connection and general look of the game make me very interested, but the insane amount of DLC less so.

But that being said, that's a pretty nice launch discount, and the DLCs are discounted too (which isn't all that common unfortunately)...

The overall price for the whole package on sale doesn't seem too bad..

Shame I still don't have that kind of money to spend on one game at the moment XD

bought it in EA direct from the dev I believe. I'll pass until it comes to GOG connect (I'm not buying it or the DLC twice). I'm sure many people feel the same way-doubly so for anyone who paid $99 for it. Not paying $13.39+$3.75x3+$4.99 for something I already own. Great discounts though. The game's on sale on Steam and there it's just $3.34 to complete.

If you PM me around Dec 2 (when the free codes will be added -- because I'll forget otherwise), I'll send you my code.

Thank you!
I'll try and remember to do that :)
Hmm, leaning towards skipping this one as I have plenty of games with complicated trading systems as is.

ElTerprise: It's not. The link's broken. Here you go: https://www.gog.com/game/offworld_trading_company

Maxvorstadt: Aha! Thanks for the link.
Wow, so many DLCs at release. Well, I guess that I don`t step in that moneymilking trap.
Although it looks interesting.

Ghorpm: Well, hold on a second. The game is like half a year old and they have already released FOUR paid DLCs?! Hahaha, that's not a business model I'm willing to support with my money :D But I do wish all the best fun to everybody who decide to buy it :)
From the game page:
About: Buy Offworld Trading Company before 14:59 CET, 01 December 2016, and receive a free copy of Offworld Trading Company to share with a friend! A redeem code will be added to your account between 01 - 02 December 2016.
I usually value DLC based on price/quality. The latter depends largely on the question if it adds something to the base game or if it feels like or was cut from the base game.

Asking money for a map toolkit seems odd. Having additional maps and a community around the game, makes the game more interesting to those who initially were interested but backed away for some reason. It also helps to expand the lifetime of a game and could mean more interest in a sequal.

I don't know the game, but it looks rather interesting to me.
Should someone get before December 1, I might be interested in a trade. Check my trade list.
Nice release & right up my alley! It looks very nice and the launch discount is sweet (not to mention the free extra copy --thanks!). I'm wishlisting it for now until I get back home and do my homework (aka read reviews/watch a couple videos) since it looks like a complex game and in such games, the gameplay/mechanics must be excellent to really grab my attention. I hope the AI is good enough since I don't really care about the multiplayer.

ps. although I'm not big on DLCs, I find OTC's ones particularly interesting, especially Ceres Initiative.

I ended up getting this elsewhere a long while back, and I've not regretted it at all. I play a lot of it multiplayer with friends and family and it plays well, games don't take too long and it has a decent amount of options to level the playing field somewhat.

As to the DLC, there's a lot there but really I've found that just the Ceres addon is enough at the moment. Although I own the majority of it because it was drip fed since launch and never felt like it was forcing me to get it.

Worth a go if you want a nice alternative real time strategy and I'm glad it finally made it here.

The style of game does seem to lend the AI a certain vicious edge, from my experience with it. So it should present a good challenge and there is a single player campaign that offers different challenges and scenarios to work around.

I'm really glad to see this released here. But I find the fact the map toolkit is paid DLC very off-putting, not sure I've ever encountered that before.
I get that the publisher is using this convoluted (especially for a lawful purchaser) method in an maladroit attempt to counteract pirating, but this parted out DLC is ridiculous. Instead of making it extremely obvious that they're "nickle & diming" you at $13.39 + $3.75 + $3.75+ $3.75 + $3.75, why didn't the publisher sell the complete game for $30 or $35 if one wanted the soundtrack also? At least I know to avoid Stardock games in the future...
Well waited for this for a longtime but with Ai War 2 kickstarter and Cossacks 3 + Escalation this will have to wait for a few months. Still what's up with all the dlc.

Matruchus: Still what's up with all the dlc.
And why have they chosen to make the almanac available as a free DLC rather than simply including it as a goody to the main game? It baffles the mind...

According to the release date on the game card, "The Patron and the Patriot" was/will be released on December 27th of this year. We have a DLC from the future! =D

Five, if you count the soundtrack.
