Three legs are better than two when you're making a great escape!

Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, the recently updated 3D adventure of the beloved Mudokon and his monopedal friend, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 33% launch discount.

Being the last remaining member of your amphibious species is a great responsibility but it's not easy outrunning your evil captors in only one leg! Thankfully, Munch is as resourceful as he's cute, and with the help of Abe, the bravest Mudokon to ever walk Oddworld, they will save their species' unhatched younglings in a spectacularly chaotic adventure for the ages.

Thanks to a recent new port, Munch's Oddysee now uses higher resolution textures, runs at 60 FPS, and sports an impressive number of assorted fixes and audiovisual improvements. This allows the inventive action/adventure gameplay, the beautifully rendered Oddworld outdoors, and the hilarious interactions with all its wacky inhabitants to shine brighter than ever before.

Join Munch and Abe as they spread mayhem in Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 33% launch discount will last until September 8, 12:59 PM, UTC.

Marioface5: It's unnecessary and obnoxious. I imagine that a lot of people, myself included, get sick of the negativity on this forum. It's grating to constantly have people post in release threads about how they're not buying the game for one reason or another. We get it, you (general you, not addressing you personally) use Steam, or don't like regional pricing, or whatever. No need to remind us every time GOG gets a new release.
In many cases I own versions of the same game on both platforms. I find Steam easier to use especially with the Steam Link. But I also like to support GOG.com because I love being able to replay golden classics. Which is why I support Night Dive Studios on Kickstarter with their remake of System Shock. And let's not forget, sometimes the GOG.com version is superior to the Steam version (either because it's a better port or because it has more 'goodies'), so sometimes there is a good reason to buy a specific game on GOG.com instead of on Steam. I get why people are complaining, they feel they 'own' the game when in fact they don't. You pay for a licence to play the game on a specific platform, you don't get to actually 'own' the game. Strangely enough I haven't seen anyone complaining that they should be granted a copy of a game on either platform because they still own a physical copy. Unfortunately forums are used for complaining all the time, , which is why many websites lately have decided to close down their fora. The best thing to do is to ignore useless comments and concentrate on those that are useful or reply to those where you can lend a helping hand.

IronArcturus: Is this game similar to Stranger's Wrath?
No, it's much more similar to the original two games (Abe's Odyssey and Abe's Exodus), but in 3D. Stranger's Wrath has an emphasis on action and shooting, which makes sense since the hero is similar to the unnamed cowboys (he's called 'Stranger' for a reason) from legendary westerns. Munch however is an anti-hero, much like Abe whom you'll also control and has to rely on others and machines to do the fighting for him. You'll sick Fuzzels and Mudokon on enemies, try to get enemies to run into traps or use machines or possessed enemies against enemies, but you don't really have much to attack enemies with yourself. It's more of a puzzle platformer with occasional action sequences.

mazayus: Good news, everyone! :D

By the way, does this port have gamepad support?
Yes, it even works with a wireless Xbox One controller, including the triggers, without any problems.

Awesome, thanks for the kind words. And yeah, sorry it took so long... Hopefully you'll find the new port of Munch worth it, especially now its running at 60fps.
I wonder if that quintology will be completed within my lifetime*... or the dev's, for that matter. It's almost nineteen years after the first game was released, and there's still no proper third part in sight. Stranger's Wrath and Abe's Exoddus are considered offshoots, and the upcoming Soulstorm doesn't seem to be a real continuation either.

Slowest episodic release ever! Kentucky Route Zero, eat your heart out! ;)

*I kind of figure they have given up on their original plans, which all things considered were way too ambitious as it is. Still, it's cool that this franchise is still alive and kicking.
