MarkoH01: I wonder why GOG continues to list games that needs online connection. We recently had this with DOOM Eternal. Why don't they just FIRST remove the online requirement for everything and THEN put it on sale?
I suppose the second worst option is apathy, especially for a "bad" game like this (did GOG only accept it because of because it had a AAA budget?). I think they've held back games before to fix stuff, despite the planned launch time.

some DRM
Probably don't want to piss of devs or publishers by "asking for too much", too.
Maybe staff are overworked and don't have time to check everything out or forget things.
Could be a mix.
Naturally I'd encourage refunding this game until it's fixed.
