Fans of Idea Factory games are in for a huge treat. First of all, Megadimension Neptunia VIIR is now available on GOG.COM along with a 60% discount. Secondly, also quite a few DLCs to games from Neptunia Universe are getting added to our library. Such a load of new content gives us the occasion to present you with a special set of discounts reaching up to 70% on selected Idea Factory titles and DLCs. This promo sale ends on 18 December 2019, at 2 PM UTC.
Also a good thing about VIIR is that IF has the XP bug fix that was present in VII where you didn't get the proper XP when killing enemies.

Another thing about this version of the game is that they assumed that you completed VII. It is even hinted at when you start a new game.

Maybe this could lead to things to come and maybe we could get Cyberdimension here as well.

Here is one final thing is that if you Played Cyberdimension you know about the new Noire voice. In VIIR you get to hear the new Noire voice for a lot longer period of time. This is how I judged her new voice further by playing VIIR.

takezodunmer2005: Great, so this is the inferior version to steam's MDVII!?

Damn, time for a refund...

zlep: You are aware they're different games, yes?
Yes as far as the titles and gameplay elements featured and taken away between the two; I can only go by the info that I was given, went to the steam forum to find out if it was true.

zlep: Steam sells both VII and VIIR.
GOG sells only VIIR.

Although VIIR is a remake of VII, they've always been marketed as different games. Many people prefer VII, but you'll also find people who think VIIR is the better game (better graphics, more cutscenes, cutting out the super annoying random battles, etc).
Well if it's a remake, then it's similar enough to be considered somewhat of the same game though... unless of course the stories are vastly different, then yeah. I do like that there's no more random battles but the comparisons between the two are quite disheartening from what I've read, less endings, newgame+ only one autosave slot vs multiple.

Now if GoG were to bring MDVII over here...

Concerning the Endings:
As far as I remember (it's been a while since I played it) there were two endings, one just being extended upon the other. Meaning if you get the true End you automatically see the other one as well. So in VIIR you still get to see everything you just don't have to bother with maybe missing something and missisng out on the extended Ending in the process.

Ahh, I see, thanks for the info! I suppose I will keep it as I detest refunding GoG games, but I still hate the auto save single-slot, but it's not a real deal breaker as I have a Game save manager program that works well enough...
Didn't really like any game of the series so far, but I heard VII is vastly superior to the first three games. Maybe should give it a try?

GOG.com: Secondly, also quite a few DLCs to games from Neptunia Universe are getting added to our library.
Bug report.
The users library download links for DLC Pack 2 for Re;Birth 3 are bugged.

The text for the links for both says:
DLC Pack 2 - Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 V Generation - DLC Pack 2 (Part 1 of 2) gog-3 126 MB
DLC Pack 2 - Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 V Generation - DLC Pack 2 (Part 2 of 2) gog-3 126 MB

However, both links try to download the same .EXE file
setup_hyperdimension_neptunia_rebirth3_dlc_pack_2_gog-3_(32411).exe

There is no part 1 or part 2 file, there's just the single, unnumbered .EXE file.
Since the DLC situation in Re;Birth 1 is a bit weird I wonder if anybody who purchased DLC pack 2 for the game could tell me if the additional DLCs are listed in the DLC config menu as well (and therefore can be turned on/off)?
I wonder if there is a chance for Hyperdimension Neptunia U and Goddesses Online to be released on GoG

As I stated, these games were made by Tamsoft, so unless they agree to this, IF can't do a thing about it.
Just a few days after I bought some of these on Steam... Heh.

*Buys again*

All of them are listed and can be disabled.

Thank you.

Here's an important question; does anyone know where they've hidden the save files for this game? I really detest this trend of game developers burying/hiding the game save files!

Will check when I get home (probably somewhere in your users dir)? I wish GOG would enable cloud saving for these games though - same as Steam... want to 100% them... but format my computer regularly and always forget to back stuff up ><

Thanks anyways, I found it; it's in the actual game folder! \Gog\Neptunia Saga\Megadimension Neptunia VIIR\resource\bin It's extremely rare to see a save game file in the actual game folder!
