WinterSnowfall: Compare that to the constant stream of platformers, RPGs, FPSes etc. being released every week and I hope you'll see what I meant when I said it's being "abandoned" :). Ok, I'll give you that "largely neglected" would have been a better term perhaps.

Mafwek: You can't play RTS games on consoles. It is "abandoned" genre.
Actually, in the 7th generation (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii) there were some solid RTS games, the more traditional build and fight-type and also the tactical. Just to name a few:
- C & C 3 series
- C & C Red Alert 3
- Battalion Wars 2
- Supreme Commander series
- Swords and Soldiers
- RUSE
- Halo Wars 1
- Tom Clancys Endwar
- Universe at War (SEGA)
- Lord of the Rings / Middle Earh series
- Warhammer Mark of Chaos
- Toy Soldier series
- Stormrise (SEGA)
- Darwinia series
- World in Conflict series
- Star Trek strategy games (Legacy, Conquest)

Tower defense type games:
- Anomaly series
- Defender of Ardania
- Defense Grid

... and more

New "classic base building type" RTS game is quite rare today, even on PC.

Here are some of the available RTS games on PS4 (and also XB1, if you choose the button), selected by Metacritic.

The genre is not dead, but somehow the MOBA and similar real-time strategy games are more popular nowadays.

gamesfreak64: thanks for the reply, i have a few topics in general forum asking info about hardware , also gotten lots of replies, i also replied and said it would be have a new PC assembled: i will get these parts:
i7-9700K ( with a matching cooler) ( expensive part of the PC)
(...)
and some other parts to build a new PC.
Anyway, it won't be cheap (•‿•)
Very nice selection! :)

Klumpen0815: I guess that club explains the downvoting of every negative criticism of this game even by people who otherwise like it.
That's one of the main reasons why I wasn't around on these boards much in a while. No objective and civil discussion possible like all those years ago.
Mostly just fanboys and haters.
Don't forget the makers of this game on fake accounts down voting everyone who doesn't like their game but other then that yes the gog forums can be quite a borg these days with no room for alternative opinions.

Edit to add more detail; one of the main reasons why I'm so negative on a game like this is it is below the limit of gogs so called quality control and opens the floodgates to very unoriginal asset flips not to mention why should this game be here while other games get rejected.

I love indie games and I think games can be very enjoyable without the latest graphics engines but this is very unoriginal, poor programing, low effort, nostalgia crash grabbing.

I wouldn't call it a shameless cash grab although it is an obvious clone, since it's not expensive and someone obviously did put effort into it, but I still have a huge problem with the pathfinding since that's more important than the looks. I really hope this gets fixed.

OP-2019:
I think that for the most series you mentioned (such as SupCom) only one game from the series came on consoles. But I did not check. However, my comment doesn't refer to the fact that it's impossible to play RTS games on consoles, but that it's not possible to play RTS games on high level on consoles, similarly to arena FPS games such as UT or Q3. And those genres were/are niche in the grand scheme of thing.

And unlike WinterSnowfall, I wouldn't like to get into PC vs consoles debate - I am currently exclusively PC gamer because it only economically viable option, I grew up on PlayStation and PlayStation 2. But I don't think you can play some genres on them, just like PC can't match Switch in portability. Commentary referred merely to general public/casual gamers who prefer consoles and AAA titles.
Just gave the demo a whirl... and got my ass kicked already in the second level. Whoops! ;) Yeah, it's definitely a low-budget Warcraft clone, but that's not actually a bad thing in my book, especially since we'll probably never see another actual Warcraft RTS again. =/

I'm definitely tempted to pick this one up. :)

IronArcturus: Is there a way to set a rally point in the game?
I've checked and it seems that it's possible, just select building and use right mouse button (it will show the same blue icon as the one which is shown when you're giving orders to units).

Thank you, it is very nice indeed, also quite expensive, takes some time to save for it....
but gaming is my only 'hobby' and watching tv/movies ( dvd's).

Smoking is expensive and very bad for health , drinking alcohol aswell, 24/7 fast food ( also quite expensive)
a car/bike/ bicycle also cost $ or Euros, i have none so all the cash will be saved to buy new parts, even then it will take a lot of time before i have enough to start building.

Anyway one year has past ( time flies) and i 'm almost done and ready to start buying parts.
