I get knocked down, but I get up again...

Lords of the Fallen GOTY is now available DRM-free on GOG.COM, 84% off until November 12th, 11pm UTC.
Sometimes, the world doesn't need heroes. It needs men with nothing to lose. Harkyn, a sinner and outcast in the eyes of his people, is summoned during these dark times to drive the Lords of the Fallen back into the shadows from whence they came. Master a punishing but rewarding action/RPG combat system, find long-forgotten weapons of ancient power, and make every move count in this deadly dance of perseverance.

Followthereaper: I just checked it myself, and with the base game, demonic wep pack, and the monk DLC, it is 8.7GB on steam. Hence why I am wondering where the other 8GB of files is coming from.
avatar
Mawthra: Got curious and installed the Steam version... look at my file sizes in the attached images... they're pretty much the same
I only ever had the base game, demonic pack, and the monk DLC installed on my end. Never had the two boosts, Lion pack, artbook/soundtrack, nor the ancient Labyrinth installed. But the boosts, armour, ost/artbook should not be 8GB in size surely? is the labyrinth DLC near 8GB on its own is it?

harharduki: Just a heads up, apparently this game does not handle AMD graphics well (specially RX 480).

Which is a bit of a shame, this game seems to be the closest thing (thematically) to Bloodborne on pc. :(

Mr.Caine: The closest thing to Bloodborne is Dark Souls 3. This ain't it chief.
Ever heard of personal opinions?
low rated
So, gems like the Zachtronics games are not allowed on gog but bad Dark Souls clones meet the "quality" standard without even selling the originals? Good job! No wonder that many devs openly share their frustration with gog. Your quality in the last six months dropped faster than Steam's over the last 5 years, just as I wanted to completely switch to gog. You should cut out the "good" and the "old" in your name.

GOG is getting EXAPUNKS (confirmed by Zach) and all the rest of his games are here aside from Shenzhen Solitaire... I know what you're referring to about Opus Magnum, but that got squared away... and GOG has been selling newer games for a long time now, so I'm not sure what your point is

I had a GTX 760 and now I have a RX 480. The Steam version of LOTF was a bit crashy on both (it was the reason I stopped playing it), but apart from that it ran pretty well at medium/high settings (I played at 1080p on the RX 480 and 720p on the GTX 760, to achieve 60 fps). It runs better on Nvidia cards because it's an Nvidia game, of course.

skeletonbow: Anyone else experiencing random currency display problems on the website today? GOG still using Maxmind with a broken IP database perhaps? :)
Yep, USD instead of GBP.
What is this now?

Aaand it's back to normal... Added a game to my cart and it switched to GBP. Weird.

They already did. It's just GOG.com now.

Should be on Connect for a worthwhile version of the Denuvo riddled mess I was never able to play when I got this on Steam years ago.
as soon as i see somebody rolling around on the floor with heavy medieval armor i start to cringe

tremere110: 84% off is a weird amount. It might be a mistake - pick it up while you can!

GOG_Solostran: It's not a mistake :)
Awesome! Too good a deal to pass up, bought!

dixxn: This is a very interesting game, bought it on a very huge sale not long ago on Steam. The control with mouse and keyboard needs lots of work, though. I lost interest after few hours playing thanks to that. If GOG's version is better and the control's fixed, I don't mind buying again here. So please for people who can compare both the steam and GOG release, give your thoughts on the review section.

paladin181: The controls were never really meant for KB/M, unfortunately. Dark Souls series suffers from similar problems. But the game is incredible. I wouldn't buy again if you're hoping for better controls.
Well that's too bad, I really want to play this game. Thank you very much for your response, appreciate it.

Yup. If you can get past the controls or get a cheap X360 controller, it's totally worth it. Game isn't horrible, and is a lot of fun. But I was shocked that the whole game seems to be a large extensive level, rather than an interesting world. Basically, when it started, I thought the temple was an area, not the whole game. I got pretty disappointed about 3 hours in by that. But it was worlds better than Bound by Flame, which isn't saying a ton.

i_hope_you_rot: Question 1 : Will this run on a Phenom II X4 955 BE / 2 GB HD7850 combo ?
According to the minimum requirements, yes it will. Just expect to play on low graphics settings.
Holy sh*t! This price is a steal! AAAAAAAA *Bought*
I actually really enjoyed playing this on Xbox, so much so that I'm even considering getting it at this price now that I have built a new PC and my Xbox version is GwG and doesn't have the DLC.
I don't like the rigid Dark Souks comparisons, it feels different in some major ways. The combat is similar, in that it is heavily weighted and based on momentum and creating openings. But game progression is quite different- when you save at fires the enemies in the area do not respawn like Souls games. That a pretty big difference to how you play and how it feels really, plus you can bank xp at the fires so you don't lose it. Respawns only happen when you die or change areas- the point being play carefully and don't die. I think it's more like a standard western action RPG with Souls combat.

Hopefully The Surge will come here as well, not sure if it's same publisher though. Probably after it is a PSN Plus and GwG title first.
