Fortuk: Glad to have you! Could you confirm whether you can play the game with mouse+keyboard? The store description is a little vague in this regard.
Yes you can! You can also play exclusively with keyboard.

I'm a few hours in (still playing chapter 1) and it's really tingling my Legend of Dragoon nostalgia wiskers.

Now bear in mind that I haven't played Legend of Dragoon for years so my comparason is based mostly on my own subjective impressions of both rather than any list of particular features, but it certainly has scratched that old itch for me in a modern way (mostly meaning updated graphics in this case).

As it stands now I'm quite content to have backed - and be playing - this game.

Are you talking about the PSX jRPG made by Sony? Because IIRC, that one was a pretty mediocre game aside from a few interesting elements (like Rose being the Shadow Monster, or the fact you couldn't really grind levels due to random encounters giving almost no xp).

I had fun with it, enjoyed the combat for once (usually most combat systems - for me - at best don't get in the way of the story) it was nice to have turn based with a little timing element, novel and refreshing.
It doesn't stand out as the most immersive story world of all time but it wasn't boring either (Torment and The Witcher had stories that grabbed me more).

I would by no mreans describe my exprience with Legend of Dragoon as "mediocre" but everyone has differing tastes (thankfully the world isn't 100% filled with repeated thought) so I'm sure there are plenty of people who aren't interested in that style of game. If it's not your cup of tea no worries, I'm sure GOG has plenty of other things which are :)
I also found Legend of Dragoon rather mediocre but that was among all those INCREDIBLE other PSX JRPGs. It was like the pinnacle era of JRPGs.

If today a JRPG of the traditionally style releases, it only competes with stuff like I Am Setsuna, Lost Sphear, Exist Archive, Earthlock, Celestian Tales and Battle Chasers and compared to those Legend of Dragoon would pretty easy stand a chance against.

Haven't played Legrand Legacy, so I can't tell if it's as good as (or even better than) Legend of Dragoon yet, though.
