Isn't PDS's Europa Unersalis the king ("cough" queen) there?

mqstout: This game does not have any good onboarding/tutorial. You get things that pop up sometimes when you click on things, but no direction or suggestions beyond a first-time UI big-picture overview.

Game card called it an "accessible" grand strategy. It was immediately overwhelming with a drop-in and pray you already know how to swim.

Refunded after maybe 5 minutes.

Syphon72: Nothing about the game is confusing to learn. If you can't read the tutorial tips that pop up, maybe the games not for you.
Thanks for your unhelpful condescension. But no, dropping a player into a giant interface of a giant map of a giant game with zero direction is not a good onboarding process. Not even one of the start-up tips tell you WTF victory conditions are or how to see a list of them! Especially in a genre famous for bad learning curves and complexity of systems and UX, this is a not-so-small oversight.

Maybe I'll try it again when it's on a big discount, but I'm certainly not going to try muddling through an unlabeled black box at this price point.

The game also has a Crash-to-Desktop if you click "sign out" on the main menu. Which was a great showing for a first start! [Why is there even such a button?]

Syphon72: You really don't need the first game now. Since KOH2 is pretty much the first game with better graphics.
Doesn't necessarily mean it's a better game though. =P Besides, I find the look of a 2D Total War-alike kind of charming. Paradox really needs to stop being so stingy with their releases.

Sir.Tomato: Instabought!! I am over the moon about this release !

Hope the first game gets gog release too sooner then later!

Syphon72: I already bought it. lol

Agree the 2D look of old strategy games has this beautiful detail. I still like 2D strongholds better than the 3D games. But KOH2 is just the first game with 3D graphics and gameplay improvements, which is a good thing in my book.

Well, I figure everything out within 10\20 mins by reading the tutorial messages. I'm also Dyslexia which should make it harder for me. That's why I said maybe the game is not for you. Perhaps it's not catching your interest enough to learn how to play. This has happened to me before.

I would wait for some big patches before picking it up again. They may add the tutorial more to your liking.

I like playing games in order so how about Knights Of Honor I?

That's not relevant when there's no narrative to speak of. It's a strategy game. No need. (Sometimes older versions of strat/sim games are better and desirable, yes. But that's a different argument.)

Another case of bad timing, because this is straight up my alley! I love games that let you be a king, and I really love 4X and grand strategy-type games, so this looks great! Definitely going on my wishlist, though I'm not sure how long I can wait to buy it haha

Thanks, GOG and Black Sea Games / THQ Nordic GmbH.
Does anyone else has a problem with some of the artwork files from the goodies pack?

Some of them seems to not be downloaded fully and have an .crdownload extension.
Thank you for the Goodie Pack.

Still downloading. It is very slow and it has never happened to me, maybe it is my provider. I'm going to cancel and try again tomorrow to download the pack and two games. Sorry for not being able to give you an answer.
