<span class="bold">Ignition</span>, a top-down racer in which the end-game is fun, is available now for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com

Fun, fast, and weird... that's Ignition in a nutshell.

From buggies through school busses, an assortment of racers plows through twisty, jumpy, shortcutty (and absolutely unique) tracks! There's no regard for safety, no time to explain, certainly no time to hit the brakes ever. (Do grab a friend and make time for the split-screen mode!) It's all about the race the finish no matter the cost – which does tend to make for a jolly ol' time.

Swerve and speed through crazy tracks in crazier races with <span class="bold">Ignition</span>, DRM-free on GOG.com.

tfishell: Speaking of racing games, GOG, please bring Death Rally (original) here! :)

Should be a simple DOSBox job, I assume.

Grargar: Technically, there should indeed be no problems. The question is whether the game will be here free or paid. Before you say "free, of course", I'd like to point out that the game isn't free on Steam and this might end up being the same case here, as well.
Wasn't it released on the dev's site for free already?

As for ignition, anyone knows how to play it with a gamepad? Within the game I mean...

Good News™ everyone! The Windows version is part of this release, although hidden! Found it after looking at the dosbox config files.

1. The disk image file is in the installation folder: http://i.imgur.com/23RAOJI.png

2. Mount it. I used Virtual CloneDrive without changing the file type.

3. Oh, a setup! http://i.imgur.com/NyEpsnO.png

4. You can then simply install the game with the setup file. It didn't work on my Windows 8.1 machine at first so I copied it to my Win XP VM and it runs nice.
Nice release! I've been hoping for something like this to show up here.

Just so GOG knows, the game currently only has the single-player tag for its features. Given the split-screen mode mentioned in the description, there should be some sort of multiplayer tag as well.

Whoa thanks! And no need to mount the image, bandizip could open it no problem...

Bu the game launches to apparently two black screen then exits... :/

Hah, I thought this game was lost in time. Thanks for bringing it here.

Yes, but they may not have the rights to release it on stores (the game is not self-published on Steam, but handled by its original publishers, 3D Realms).

I don't expect it to run on current systems. Everything with Windows XP (or older) should at least work to some degree. My netbook still runs the Windows version for that very reason.
Guys,i need some help.Did anyone encounter the infinite explode bug.Basicly, when the race starts, after a period of time my car suddenly explodes without any reason. All respawns after that end with immediate explosions as soon as i get dropped on the road.Looks really funny, but is probably a bug ;).Any help would be nice.Cheers

EDIT: It started appearing right after i changed my keyboard layout.Maybe it has something to do with that :D,or maybe not.Cheers

That has happened to me, and I have only changed the resolution the game runs in.
At the moment I am just trying to get the framerate to a steady amount as it flys all over the place on my laptop.
I had been waiting for this, great release! Thank you GOG!

(on a side note:
once upon a time, there was a show on Italian televison called "Altromondo", hosted by Ivo Mej together with two assistants by the names of "Bebop" and "Verynice". It ran on TMC (TeleMonteCarlo) from 1997 to 2000 and covered, among other things, technology and videogames. It featured live videogame matches and one of the games was precisely Ignition. It looked a lot of fun back then and I have always wanted to try it since. Another featured game was Worms if I recall correctly.
I found a photo on the Internet, attached below. I wonder how many fellow Italian goglodytes remember it.)

It's free on the ZOOM store, interestingly - https://www.zoom-platform.com/#store-death-rally. (I think it was Grargar (EDIT: YOU) who originally showed this to me.)

I had hoped it (or Halloween Harry) would show up on GOG as a Christmas freebie, but no such luck.

tinyE: Anyone here actually played it?
I did, hours and hours. Had a blast playing split-screen with friends. Still have the CD somewhere.
I had this games demo on a demo disk once, was a fun game.
