Rise of the machines.

UPDATE 2: The second hero DLC included in the Season Pass is out! Yoko Takano joins the fray — born to protect and serve (for a price) she will spearhead the revolution in private military services!

UPDATE: The first hero DLC included in the Season Pass is out! You can now do battle as Yana "Tesla" Radovich, a self-taught genius and talented hacker, who relies both on her wits and her crazy hardware.

Hybrid Wars, a top-down shooter starring hulking machines and plenty of explodable enemies, is now available for Windows and Mac, DRM-free on GOG.com, with GOG Galaxy support for achievements.

In 2060, war is no longer a job for the meager foot soldier. Technology has given birth to a wide range of advanced killing machines, like tanks, robots, helicopters, and formidable mechs called Titans. As the Hybrid Wars break out, you'll find yourself commanding one such metallic monstrosity while roaming 8 expansive locations, filled with enemies to blow up and objectives to complete. Pick a hero, enter the belly of the beast you like best and equip it with the most efficient loadout. Quick reflexes and smart manoeuvres will go a long way but surviving consecutive waves of mechanized enemies and taking down towering bosses will take all the firepower you can muster.

Jump inside the cockpit of a futuristic war machine and join the Hybrid Wars, DRM-free on GOG.com.
If you want to gear up in full, pick up the Deluxe Edition, which includes an additional playable character, a digital art book, and the game's official soundtrack.
Two more hero characters are coming out in the following months, and you can recruit them now through the Season Pass.

Matewis: Man, what I wouldn't give for a new mech commander game that looks like this

Me too, backing fool that I am. :)
Another game missing Linux version on release, not surprised.
The trailers makes it look like a 3rd person Battlefield game, the game card shows otherwise. No buy until I see a Let's Play or two. And I'd like to see an all-in-one edition available in addition to the piecemeal purchase options.
will wait for linux support...
I played the first mission and a bit of the second mission and it seems that the game can be best compared with Nuclear Strike.

It's a topdown shooter with an open world, mission goals and different vehicles you can use.

Like in Nuclear Strike you can change the vehicles during the mission but diffrent from Nuclear Strike you can also run and shoot around without using a vehicle.
It' like a Nuclear Strike Plus.

I'm going to write a full review when I played a bit more of that game.

I hope Nuclear Strike will also come to GOG some day:

tinyE: I thought it was a game about racing cars that don't use gasoline.
It's about the war between GMO Corn and Labradoodles.

Think i might join you in the fooldom now :P
No description on the game page... this doesn't bode well, having to come here for a basic description of what the game is...
Nothing to say about the game yet until I can finally look at some damn videos... Wargaming has kept this hush hush with only little snippets of hero demos and trailers.

Kind of off/on-topic - the rating system is and will always be ridiculous until somebody decides to make you own a game here before rating/reviewing. 'Aww I don't like this game for X reason, so I'm just going to tick that 1-star'.

I just watched a video and the very first thing I saw was there were 3 playable characters with the two season pass girls greyed out.
You can pick the guy in the middle just fine. The one to the left has a note under him saying 'available only after login to multiplayer'. The one to the right says 'available after buying the DLC'.
So you only have one character?

Here is a video, the concern in question is at 1:25

Are the words "Read more" not visible to you? Not being sarcastic, just want to check if they are not displaying for you for some reason as there is a description of the game just after you click on "Read more"....

They're not bad dogs generally. More shrewd than a Labrador, but not as mean as a Poodle. They're kind of an in-thing right now.

Personally I'm a big fan of Great Pyrenees. So sweet and excellent herd watchdogs.

Read more for the basic description...

No I didn't, I saw the HUGE advertisement in place of where the description should have been, like fine print... I'd hope for at least a paragraph before Read More. Might as well be 'Click to read'

Sorry, annoyed right now... Not really meaning to snap at anyone. But I think I have a new pet peeve to add to my list.
