Plus: all other 2K Games are now up to -75%!

Hidden & Dangerous Action Pack and Hidden & Dangerous 2, the tactical WWII shooters where every bullet counts, are now available as digital exclusives on GOG.com.
For a proper welcome, we're holding a 2K Games Sale, where the entire catalog is up to 75% off!

More often than not, strength or numbers are not the deciding factors of victory; tactics are. A squad of fine British Special Air Service lads with co-ordinated moves, smart shooting, and carefully chosen loadout can disrupt the most dense enemy forces as long as they stay Hidden & Dangerous.

The sequel, Hidden & Dangerous 2, expands on the gameplay mechanics that let you switch between a third-person and first-person view, while also adding more stealth and subterfuge options. This time, our team is assassinating targets, sabotaging equipment, and rescuing prisoners in even more diverse locations across Europe, Africa, and Asia.

In order to welcome the two H&D games in our 2K Games squad, the rest of their catalog is now on sale, with titles like X-Com: Terror from the Deep, Army Men, and Freedom Force going for up to 75% off.
The 2K Games sale lasts until February 27, 5PM UTC.

lonewolfgk: Why can i and all other South-Africans buy 2K games on Steam???
That's an odd argument to make, seeing as neither the Army Men games or the two H&Ds are available on Steam whatsoever. Also, going by the screengrabs ShaunRoberts posted in the other release thread, all of 2K's other games on GOG are for sale in your country.

I'm not saying supporting region restrictions is in any way good, but flawed arguments don't really help the matter.

Oh yes, MY game. (I mean not like my "favourite", but like "my"... I worked on HD2... if you ever wonder why the AI is dumb, blame me... sort of .. and project budget/management ;) )

BTW, if you like tactical shooters, I really believe the HD2 is worth the check. Not sure where are the modern games today (I don't play modern games), and you will run into many weird situations when the game does react in a bit unexpected/funny way, it should be still solid fun experience. I hope. :)
Crap - wasn't planning on buying any games for a while, and then these come along.
How is H&D2, compared to the first? (I remember that it was nice, but not perfect)

Ah, I was wondering why I remembered it free.
What's the difference with H&D1 on GOG?

lonewolfgk: Its not our country stopping them.

Best of all even if the publication board wanted to stop us, they could not because GOG is overseas and they cannot see who buys what and from what country. So how would they stop this.

One last note, GOG stopped us buying Army Men as well. Same thing, our country being limited like this.

Anyway wanted to support this but guess thats what Torrents are for then. I do not want to but how else then.
avatar
OraEtLabora: Maybe, because the published doesn't allow/want to sell their game(s) to South Africa?
And also, they can see you, your IP Address, from where are you from.

There are many games out there, that cannot be for whatever reason legally sold to different countries.
Most of 2K's games we can buy it's just army men and now H&D/2 that we can't buy. It's only South Africa that can't buy it. why not lesotho or zimbabwe?

The AI is far from dumb, you should play modern games to see! I don't see your name in the credits ;) but perhaps you can tell us what happened to the H&D2 coop maps for the base game? was hoping they'd finally be released with this...

I did not say those 2, i said (2k Games) in bracket and like you just said, all the other 2k games is available on gog for us, but for some reason Army Men and H&D is not.
And i would like an explanation from gog as to why its not available to us and not just take us to main game screen when we click on the link.

Ive played the game many times, the AI is fine man, no worries. And H&D2 is still the top tactical shooter out there, modern games have nothing on it. I wish a competent team of devs made H&D3.

Sorry, I don't know. Maybe someone from GOG can answer you.

My highly positive sarcastic attitude a tremendous respect for any authority was a bit too much for some people... and some other minor technical details.... so I didn't follow the development till it got shipped. That part with credits is sort of hilarious (actually I'm there, but not where I would expect it), also I got assured my AI code was rewritten completely later (I still wonder how they managed to replicate its behaviour so well, even almost all my "bugs" I had in my todo remained). So also I have no idea what happened to coop maps, basically in the way this game was being made, it was important to ship it as soon, as it was possible to build a complete game from the current progress (and that happened a bit way too late after way too much beyond original budget and deadlines). So the coop was probably not ready at that point. Overall I think the product does hold up quite reasonably, so I wouldn't push too much about that, I think that decision at which point to ship it was actually excellent one.

And do you know what's the difference between H&D1 GOG vs H&D1 Deluxe?

A HD2 dev! you fellas are rare in terms of contact, I've only recently discovered the games and been having a blast with HD2 and in my spare time I've slowly been learning on how to mod the game.
There is still a very dedicated and active community over here: https://www.rprclan.com/

I've only been messing with the basics but I'm sure the modding community could use the password to reverse engineer the games .exe ;D http://i.imgur.com/gb9QXiu.jpg

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_curious_case_of_the_hidden_dangerous_deluxe_edition_67796/page1

I have the first HD + expansion as retail versions, played them a long time ago. I recall liking them, besides that I don't really recall much of them. Some kind of deeper military shooter, IIRC.

I've never played the sequel, nice to have it on GOG. I recall seeing some trailer for it back when it was announced, thinking "Man oh man I have to get that game!". Oh well, 14 years later I guess that's what I'm going to do...

According to GOG zodiac it seems to be the year of the tactical shooter. I'm down with dat.
