F-16 Fighting Falcon

Falcon Collection, a retro flight sim anthology, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com - with a 40% launch discount on the Weekend Promo: Retro Mishmash.

Falcon was a game changer. Realism was the name of the game, and Falcon did things that have never been done before. Realistic simulated physics, a detailed, first-person cockpit view, and a ridiculous manual. Starting from Falcon in 1987, through Falcon A.T. and Falcon 3.0 - each release brought us closer to the very real flight experience.
Among the games' goodies, you'll also find a bonus as-is copy of Falcon 4.0, but also the "Art of the Kill" instructional video & PDF - a very real lesson, by a very real F-16 pilot, on how to tame the supersonic arsenal. Simulation mechanics are one thing, the spirit of flight is another - and the foreword says it all:
"Art of the Kill has been designed to teach you the fundamentals of Basic Fighter Maneuvers (BFM). As the name implies, BFM is the cornerstone of tactical fighter aviation. Since its principles are rooted in the laws of physics, geometry and aerodynamics, they are non-negotiable and cannot be finessed."
Badass.

Take to the skies in the extremely realistic Falcon Collection now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.
A canonic release :) the Falcon 4.0 situation is appropriate considering the amount of hardcore modding that game has seen. That said, some more modern pics would help sell this, not that it will sell a lot likely... hope I'm wrong.
A trademark gog "mods highlights" page would do the trick.

Yes, been awhile since we've seen one of those.

timppu: Note that the screenshots are from various games in the Falcon series, starting from the original CGA-graphics Falcon, which was released in 1987.

I think the newest screenshots were from Falcon 3.0, which is a 1991 DOS (low res VGA) game, so its graphics also have probably aged badly. Apparently no Falcon 4.0 screenshots were included, probably because 4.0 is delivered as an extra. All the screenshots seemed to be from the first three games.
I was being a bit jokey.

haydenaurion: Damn, that looks hype.

What are the recommended system requirements to run that?
There you go!

System Requirements for Falcon BMS

Also, click here for an in-depth review of BMS 4.32 in SimHQ.

What i forgot to write down is that for anyone interested in Falcon BMS 4.32, you need to own the original Falcon 4.0 too. Now that GOG sells it (even if it is as a bonus), it is easy to obtain!

Fever_Discordia: Yeah, I was wondering that - is it a Windows 3.1 game or something crazy?

*edit* also it's weird that a lot of Retroism things on Steam are yet to make their way here yet this pack isn't over there yet - be nice if F-19 could be retroactively added to F-117 V2.0...

haydenaurion: Agreed on that, here's a wishlist link so that more votes may get some attention:

Any other flight or tank sims anyone can think of for me to provide wishlist links to?

As were my M1 Tank Platoon links too.

Do not joke around like that. Simulators are a serious business. That's why they are called simulators, not "funny bunnies" or "toy boxes" or "laugh-o-meters".

But simulators stimulate my funny bone.

Voted. :)
It's really wonderful to see all the Falcon games here. I have fond memories with the series, especially with the first game.

Vythonaut: Also, take a look at these wonderful videos:

This is why We Fight - Falcon Online Community // Promo VIdeo

And if you decide to get in the cockpit, this guy below has some of the best tutorials found on YT. Highly recommended.

Krause Tutorials

Also, BMS has it own manuals that are slightly different to the normal 4.0 manual as the flight characteristics & weapon simulation changed a bit.
