Sculpy: I wasted a lot of hard earned credits upgrading the map info perk because it permanently says on the UI "Next upgrade: Reveal threat level info on nodes" or similar... well, no such info has yet to reveal itself after 4 upgrades. Pah.
Yeah, I was confused there as well. That ability will be unlocked with the perk's next level, but it takes several upgrades to "level up" some perks. You'll see your progress towards the next level on the perk's description, there's also information on exactly how much you need to spend to fully level up the perk.

As we have said many times, EVERSPACE was specifically designed for mouse and keyboard. It is the recommended way to play because the game is an arcade space shooter, not a simulation. Just like in First Person Shooters, you will be strafing a lot and will greatly benefit from the aiming precision using a mouse provides.

Ixamyakxim: This probably means I'll be picking this one up - I love the idea of the gameplay loop and I'm a huge sucker for space shooters. Knowing I have the option to break out my flightstick, but that the game might be better off with the Mouse and Keyboard is probably all the assurance I need that I'll enjoy the game.

I'll certainly revisit come June-ish but thanks for the re-post. Seriously, you just took a game I wanted to like but was feeling a bit lukewarm about to me being as excited as I should be for something right in my genre wheelhouse.
Glad to help. I hope when you do get it, that you enjoy it :)
Want to get this.... but that time limit thing? Is it still in the game after the last update?

There is no definitive time limit, but powerful enemies will warp in after a certain time and most likely they will kill you if you stay. This is the incentive for doing things quickly and choosing what you want to do in each sector.

Now with that said, there is an upgrade that you can get that prevents these forces from warping in, so essentially you can earn a game modifier that turns this off.

I have to say that this game is awesome. I have over 80 hours in so far. It's just a lot of fun to sit down and play for 15 minutes. Good replay value.

Ah, thanks for the info, I didn't notice that. I mean, I assumed something like that had to be the case (I didn't want to believe it was a bug!) but I just didn't know. Sweet.

lol my first few flights lasted about 2 minutes. My last flight (to Sector 3) took over an hour! Maybe...12 jumps or so?

You slowly build up your upgrades (and skill). I think I was about 40 runs in by the time I collected everything. Now I pretty much beat each run unless some unexpected disaster happens. It has tons of replay value.
Good to know it becomes beatable with upgrades. I keep getting pasted in the first couple of jumps in sector 4 no matter the difficulty or my build so far... that shield just pops in a split second.
Sadly they kinda nerfed the game's difficulty which I hate and changed the pilots voice and a few other things but still its a good game. Would trade out copies of this game for next to nothing might show how much I like it and that I'll probably keep both this new version and the old one on my HDD.
Question for owners:

is there any Newtonian gravity/heft to the fighter you fly, or is it just a paper-plane that turns on a dime?

The starting fighter doesn't have much inertia. You don't use your engines you don't go forward. That said there are certain objects that exert gravitational pull that will affect you - so beware.
Good news for Linux users, the game is now officially released for Linux and has already been added to GOG :-)

I think this news deserves an announcement on the front page. The devs went through an enduring challenge and made an amazing effort, I think some more exposure would be great.
