This is most appealing space sim for me. Small doses - FTL like progress - easy to learn (still - I'm terrible at it) .

Edit: Downlads have _rc1 in their name - will they be substituted for full release or is it safe to download as rc and release are same and only filename changes ?

Funky game, runs smooth & looks great.

For anyone wanting it, humblebundle does the same price (was 20% off few days ago) & you get the steam & gog key for the one price.
Has it really graduated its InDev, or is it like other InDev titles (MOW:Corsair for instance) which are still buggy as hell and look like alphas? Its at a price point way above anything I would consider paying when viewed in conjunction with its being "InDev".

that's full release :)
Well might be worth checking out again if I find the time.
Can one use a Thrustmaster?
Looks interesting but I'll probably wait for a sale. Not a big fan of roguelikes.
Does anyone know what happened to the planned Linux port?
https://linuxgameconsortium.com/linux-gaming-news/everspace-space-shooter-launches-on-steam-and-gog-linux-support-coming-36253/

It uses Unreal Engine 4 so where's the problem?
Linux support under OpenGL 4.0 will be added with the first patch planned for the end of the month.
That was in 09/2016.
The Linux port was a stretch goal in the Kickstarter, was it a lie to get more money?

I think I bought it December last year and found it very playable and didn't run in to any issues. I haven't downloaded the release version yet but I assume it's more polished and has more features.

Obviously there may be bugs or incompatibilities with a specific system but I never felt this was incomplete or broken like some other games.
Already wishlisted. But my backlog...
Looks great, but is it great?

Yes and no. Built around idea of Keyboard and mouse, but now its been released joystick / hotas support will be worked on.

Quoting the KS update from today

"Joystick / HOTAS Support

As we have said many times, EVERSPACE was specifically designed for mouse and keyboard. It is the recommended way to play because the game is an arcade space shooter, not a simulation. Just like in First Person Shooters, you will be strafing a lot and will greatly benefit from the aiming precision using a mouse provides.

However, we know there are quite a few space pilots out there who are eager to play EVERSPACE with their joystick. The threads about HOTAS support on our forum and on Steam have been buzzing and we have some good news: we will start working on joystick support right after the full release. We will have to migrate the project to Unreal Engine 4.15 first, but if things go as smoothly as we hope, we should be able to implement joystick support and button remapping by the end of June."

Per the previous KS update

"Linux

Unfortunately, we won’t be having a Linux version ready for full release. Although we expected to run into problems, we thought that Unreal Engine would make our life a whole lot easier and time spent on the port would be closer to the time spent on the Mac version. We ran into some serious graphics issues on Linux, the biggest one being related to NVIDIA graphic cards. The problem was confirmed on their end and we are waiting for a new driver update that fixes the issue. In the meantime we are working on the other remaining issues and should the driver update not hit soon we will be able to use a workaround with reduced graphics that was thankfully provided by one of the dedicated Linux users on the Steam forums. So please stay tuned! "

Thiev:
Pinging to let you guys know that the game's not showing up under the "New" tab yet.
Downloaded four days ago via gogdownloader.
gog site still doesn't show updates & there's nothing showing under the update tab.

Is there anything changed on gogs downloads yet or is it still waiting for the actual 1.0 release to be made available?

downloader version was (four days ago) 2.5.0.7, browser download is 1.0.6.32482.

Will you ever get around to putting dates next to these so customers can stop having to guess what's new & what isn't?
