Syphon72: Yes, it is silly. You're going out of your way to play games because people you disagree with, don't like it. That doesn't seem logical.
I am playing "woke" games because I played Banishers and found it to be one of the most meaningful experiences I ever had in gaming. If I would have listened to the anti-woke crowd (including the guy who sold it to me who said I shouldn't play it), I would never have had that experience. This is how social pressure works...
As I've said prior, I believe a person should be allowed to play whatever they want without having to be pressured one way or another... whatever their worldview or that of the game.
But if you think dogpiling anti-woke posts aren't social pressure / engineering on a street level.... sheesh.
IMO it's like groups wandering the streets trying to pressure people of the neighborhood into "right think." Now it's the internet?
And -- again IMO -- these anti-woke attacks are reductive and regressive becoming puritanical with "woke" being a standin for anything disliked -- real, truthful, or not. In fact wanting an end to anything "woke"... not a "magazine stand" marketplace where there is room for all types of ideas (and games).
The world has woke games. The world have anti-woke games. The world has games that don't care aboutr worldview.
There's enough room for everyone... and for every kind of game... even for games like Echoes of the End.
I'd suggest trying to come to terms with that... unless you just want to fight? I don't.
