If I would have listened to the anti-woke crowd (including the guy who sold it to me who said I shouldn't play it), I would never have had that experience. IMO the anti-woke crowd has funneled societal anger (about many aspects of life) into a bludgeon and they wield it online like a gang. Their anti-woke attacks have become puritanical with "woke" being a standin for anything disliked -- real, truthful, or not. And they in fact want an end to anything "woke"... not a "magazine stand" marketplace where there is room for all types of ideas (and games).
If you enjoy playing the game, then there's nothing silly about that statement, but you didn't mention it at first. You really don’t have to pay attention to anti-woke folks. Personally, I’m not a fan of a lot of woke elements in games, but I won’t let online opinions dictate my choices. If a game is good, woke or not, I’m in. However, I’ve come across plenty of terrible games that force woke themes on you, often failing in the aspects that actually make a game enjoyable. 1348 Ex Voto is a perfect example, in my opinion.
Banishers is probably prefect example of game that's is considered to have woke stuff but it's not shoved in your face and the developers cared more about writing a good story and gameplay. I would buy banishers if wasn't such a long game.

As I've said prior, I believe a person should be allowed to play whatever they want without having to be pressured one way or another... whatever their worldview or that of the game.
But if you think dogpiling anti-woke posts aren't social pressure / engineering on a street level.... sheesh.

There's enough room for everyone... and for every kind of game... even for games like Echoes of the End.
I'd suggest trying to come to terms with that... unless you just want to fight? I don't.
