I jumped on it ... game + both "DLC's" (despite them both being rather worthless in terms of adding content).

I may or may not get disappointed by this, but on paper it looks like the exact type of game I have been wanting more of.

Game looks like a total blast, and exactly the kind of scratch that I have had an itch for, but it really is designed for controller inputs; so I may as well play it on my couch if I am not going to be WASD-ing it up.

(P.S. yeah ... no voice work, which I am 90% ok with: I have no problem with there being no shitty narration from an over action wanna be thespian, but it would be nice if there was the typical grunts and yargs and sighs when your character's are fighting and what not.)

Dunno. "Pay extra for alternate looks if you like the game" sounds way better than the usual "pay extra for 1 character, 2 dungeons and most of the best weapons if you want the complete game" or the dreaded "pay extra for the money-and-XP DLC if you don't want to grind for 200 hours" ;)

I'll look for a few reviews (the mention of slow combats may be bothersome if they're too frequent), but it looks like my kind of games.

I must say, the demo all those years ago was significantly better optimized for keyboard controls. But I don't even have a controller, and I never understood how controller+monitor even works sensibly, so I'm stuck with it for now. Which works... ughhh... OK with practice. Most of the time, I only need my left hand. So, optimum situation for eating while gaming. Which is also bad. :P

Concerning voice acting: Not only would that have put a real dent in the 178.193$ Kickstarter budget, I also really don't think the dialog is good enough to sound well in voice form. It's a fairly artificial, run-of-the mill JRPG story with very stereotypical characters – exactly as planned by the developers, who see this as an hommage to the good old times. So the textual parts are rather basic. No need for them to be voiced.

Doesn't mean the characters are boring! It does mean they won't surprise you much. :)

Can't get it before the sale ends, but it's definitely on the wishlist for later!

I did the same. Though I have to ask myself when will I get time to play.
