Pioneers. Mercenaries. Killers.

Deadnaut a squad-based survival game, is available now for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux - DRM-free on GOG.com with a 20% discount.

So named because they're unlikely to return. Deadnaut is a game of tactics, fear, and survival - you're in command of a small squad of Deadnauts as they explore and battle their way through derelict shells of formerly glorious alien starships. Though you'll be commandeering from afar, Deadnaut is technically a first person game: you're watching events unfold from the relative safety of your command center. Lo-fi displays will be your eyes as you give out commands and flip switches. Your ears will be the hazy field reports of terrified blips struggling to describe the unknown. The Deadnauts' life expectancy is short, but each playthrough will be different enough to keep you expecting the unexpected. Deadnaut is a game with a unique understanding of how to tell a story through gameplay and minimalism.

Hope you don't have plans for after, you're a Deadnaut now. Available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 20% launch discount will last for one week, until Wednesday, March 18, at 10:59 AM GMT.
Looks interesting feels like it is a good but hard game.
Never heard of this one, it looks pretty awful from the little bit I can see here.
Interesting, but something I would not enjoy.
What's a Deadnaut? Is it some kind of Dreadnought. Dreadnoughts are cool! For the Emperor!
I've got this elsewhere...from the Zafehouse: Diaries folks.. Only played a few minutes, seemed like one I will like, but can't really review..

Edit - fixed typo

Bought this the day it appeared on their site. Screwfly never disappoints with the obscure nature of their games and mechanics. While the aesthetics may be looked down upon by some, the real beauty is beneath.

Haven't played much because I'm scared to die. It takes a good knock around, much like Zafehouse Diaries, to really get into it. For someone to say a game 'looks awful' on GOG just seems completely out of place.
I was waiting for the GoG release but I bought Deadnaut from the developers web site just last week. Nice to see it finally released on GoG though.

I actually like the looks (agree they aren't as important as game play). @micktiegs_8 ... guessing you like Sunless Sea..
Uh.. looks creepy and dark, yet pretty interesting. To wishlist it goes, can't really buy anything now dammit :P
Looks really interesting but sadly, it looks like it's the type of game where there is a learning curve and I don't have time for that anymore... :(

Anyway, glad to see the guys from Zafehouse Diaries are still making games :)
Astronauts, Vythonauts, Deadnauts... who cares about names!

It seems like an interesting game i would enjoy: Nice looking UI (but maybe a hell to control?) that reminds me a bit of submarines and Fallout & i dig the music in the trailer (hopes the ingame music is that good too). Definitely goes to my wishlist because i don't think i can afford it right now nor i have the time to play it right now!

I'm eager to read some reviews of the gameplay... maybe we have a little gem here?
For some reason I have flashbacks to Aliens (on C64) and Space Hulk...
instabuy... for those interested, there is demo available on devs site: http://deadnaut.com/
Haven’t played it yet, but the impressions I've gotten from various videos are that it’s a Space Hulky/Incubation style game. The minimalist visuals serve to accentuate your role as the detached overseer of the mission and gives the excellent sound design a more menacing power that prays on your imagination. What I don’t know is if it has any staying power - whether there’s enough meat here to keep playing.
I enjoyed Zafehouse Diaries, so I might pick this up at some point.
