16 bits of fun on the wall.

CrossCode is now finally released out of In Development and is 15% off until September 27th, 7pm UTC.

It's never too late to discover your soft spot for the 16-bit NES-style classics. CrossCode is a bold combination of everything that made them homely, memorable, and just so damn fun: amusing characters, fast-paced combat, outlandish sci-fi setting, rewarding exploration, and meaningful customization.
Graduating from In Development means a complete main story filled with gorgeous cutscenes, a new area and dungeon to explore, more enemy types, bosses and party members, plus several other additions and improvements.
Happy CrossCode day everyone!

Also im sure you mean 16-bit SNES-style mr. editor :)
Yes!
I'd hoped that it it would arrive on GOG.
I'll buy it here.
Holy hell, it's finally done. I really need to play this.
Saving up my moolah now :)

Man, I sure loved those 16-bit NES games! All you had to do was buy a SNES and and then jam it into your NES with a hammer.
A little heads up since it doesn't appear in the news.

For those interested the soundtrack is also available to purchase:

GOG.com: [...] CrossCode is a bold combination of everything that made them homely, memorable, and just so damn fun: [...]
Fun fact: While in some English-speaking countries, homely means something like "comfortable, familiar", in most North American varieties of English, it generally means "[somewhat] unattractive" -- i.e., it's a "polite" synonym for ugly. =)

And once again, GOG, please don't forget to mark the reviews from the In Dev period appropriately. ;)

How can the release date be "June 17, 2015" when the game has been released today?

Not only that...look at the dates of the reviews on the game's page...January and February 2017.

Just another example of how GOG is messing up their storefront and forum software completely.
If anyone's curious how the game plays, you can check out a demo here: http://www.cross-code.com/en/start

No download required as it's built in HTML5 (in browser). I like the play style and the combat is solid too, definitely goes to the highly recommended list :-)

The release date listed is likely when the game was released on early access. CrossCode has been on GOG for a while under the "In Dev" program. This thread is for the release of the 1.0 version of the game. I don't know how GOG usually handles release dates on games that come out of early access, so I don't know if they ever intend to update the release date.
Looks like a heavily modified RPG Maker title.

Lovely artwork though. Not my kinda game from the looks of the trailer but it should find its audience.

Good luck to the devs!

Let's be honest, the release date of a game SOLD on a storefront, should be the date it's been made available to buy and play, early access or not.

It's part of the life of some games, it shouldn't be put out of the main pre-release development.
