If you’ve had a taste of Clunky Hero when it was still in development, better get ready now – because the game is out of early access and you can enjoy it in its full glory!

Clunky Hero is a story-driven, platformer metroidvania, with a touch of RPG and tons of humor. You’ll get to experience a platformer gameplay with a funny storyline, conversations with characters, solving side quests, finding and buying items, all on top of lovely hand-drawn-looking backgrounds.
Don't kick it, wear it. To the forum to share it...
How are saving and death handled in this game?
Any reason why the offline installer is still version .96 and after running it it says that that it is the early access release?
--Fixed. Thanks

There had been one save slot which was sufficient for me - it was aimed at 3 save slots.
While involved in the development slightly, I did not see the final version.
But I am quite sure it is better than the former version and problems will be ironed out
if something krept in with the new content.
It was a clear "just buy" recommendation when it was in development, see:
https://www.gog.com/forum/clunky_hero/impressions_playing_clunky_hero
and while it may last some time I am looking forward to start it from scratch.
Just give it a try! ;)

The main situation I want to avoid is a Hollow Knight-like situation where:
* When you reach a save point, you can't choose not to save, and are forced to overwrite your previous save. (No copy save feature.)
* When you die, you are punished for the death, and the game auto-saves, so you don't have the option of reloading your last save instead.
(I actually ended up not getting Blasphemous because of this sort of thing.)

It's a game. It allows you to disconnect from your real life worries, like savings or death, while playing it. Just try it :)
